Happy Halloween! I recorded some stories from Arra and her mother, Tiyi, on Arra's back porch one windy night. This show contains profanity.
In this episode, we hear Arra and Tiyi talk about a stretch of land, where they have felt and witnessed odd phenomena. Bonus story from Tiyi about being stalked by an angry spirit seeking justice. Arra and Tiyi try to get me drunk. Arra's antics derail storytelling, as do her sweet, solicitous boyfriend's inquiries.

I'm back! I had a career change last summer, and all my time and energy was consumed with work and travel for work. I threw these recordings together months ago and recorded the intro while I was home sickback in February. If it were not for the kindness of Rachel Davis, you would not have this show. Everybody go check out her music and like her facebook fanpage, because she's really rad.

On this episode, we hear again from Laura about her haunted apartment, and we also hear from her son Jacob about the apartment and a spooky ouija board experience. I also recap about ChOIR's house exorcism and hear first hand from the home owner about what was going on. He surprised me with a bonus creepy story.

Welcome back to Darkness Buried Deep Podcast. In this Episode #15, I did all my recording at Alchemy Arts Occult Supply Store.
http://www.alchemyarts-store.com/servlet/StoreFront
Ken, the owner, very kindly introduced me to a bunch of ghost story enthusiasts and opened up his back room to me for an part time recording studio. He's a great guy and runs a world class occult supply store. He is quick to support and encourage others, so I chose to purchase the First Anniversary Contest prize from his store. At the very end of Episode #15, I ask three podcast trivia questions. The first person to send the correct answers to [email protected] with "Anniversary Contest" in the subject line will win a $20 gift certificate for Alchemy Arts. I'll contact the winner via email, and then I'll announce the winner and correct answers on the facebook fan page.
Elias was just hanging out with Ken at the store while I was waiting to record someone else. That someone else cancelled at the last minute, and Elias was my hero! Stepped up and gave me over a half an hour's worth of material for #15. That's not unusual for Alchemy Arts. It's a very inclusive, friendly place. Elias shares stories of unexplained events in his house, which effected him and his family. Along the way, he expounds on his perspective on hauntings, different spiritual beings and entity attatchments as well as a surprisingly optimistic perspective on where humanity is headed.
Frank and Josette are members of the Alchemy Arts Occult Studies group and have a paranormal investigation group called CHOIR, CHicago Occult Investigations and Resolutions. They tell me about their two most recent cases. Stay tuned for Episode #16, where you'll here the personal account of a home owner and the house exorcism performed CHoir. Check out Frank and Josie's craigslist ad here:

Welcome back for Podcast 14 of Darkness Buried Deep. This month, I was in podcast editing hell, so this show is very late. Hope you’ll all forgive me for my tardiness. I never know if I’ll get material for the show even when folks give me the go ahead to record. Then what is recorded isn’t always useable for a variety of reasons. With this round of recording, I learned a lot about making sure that the recorder is actually recording , navigating background noise and encouraging soft talkers! Virginia recounts a couple of different spooky experiences, and we end up having an interesting discussion about a connection between surviving traumatic life experiences and having a sensitivity to the paranormal, maybe even a vulnerability to dark forces . Tiyi returns!!!! Arra and her mom, Tiyi, share about things which happened while trespassing in and around an abandoned mental hospital. Tiyi treats us to a song written about a ghost there! Arra wraps up this podcast by remembering a prophetic dream that quite possibly allowed her to change the course of her brother’s life. Arra and Tiyi’s segments contains profanity.
Enjoy! And don’t be shy, please give me a shout out on the Facebook fan page.

This edition of Darkness Buried Deep, Podcast 13, I am releasing on Friday the 13th, which is also a full moon! A very rare full moon, there won't be another Friday the 13th full moon until 2049! MUHAHAHAHAAAAAAA!!!
Danny, our guest from the April Fools Bonuscast, shares a tale of an odd haunting. While in Ecuador as a small child, he had a very weird experience with his siblings and cousins. If you knew this guy, you would know that this snapshot from his childhood explains so much.....
Arra, who has been on numerous other podcasts of ours, invited me to have dinner with her parents. I was very lucky to get almost 2 hours of stories from Arra and her mom, Tiyi. Tiyi submittted a story called School Spirit to Lex Wahl's Anything Ghost. She has been a guest of Jim Harold on the Campfire Podcast twice. On her most recent appearance on the Campfire, she told a story about the Slinky Lady, so aptly named due to the Slinky Lady's unnatural movement down the hallway of Tiyi's childhood home. I had heard an alternate version of the Slinky Lady story from Arra, which was the story that I wanted most of all that night. I'll include links to Tiyi's submissions to those other awesome podcasts in the show notes. Tiyi was kind enough to share several other stories of growing up in what her family called, the Pensacola House. Listeners, the fire that Tiyi references in the Slinky Lady story is the Great Chicago Fire. You'll hear more from this particular recording session of Tiyi and Arra next month.
My last story is really raw and emotional. Julia talks about her brother's murder, and how his ghost brought his murderer to trial and later conviction. If it had not been for her brother's ghost, Julia and her family would never have known what had happened to him. Due to the emotional nature of Julia's telling and the violence of the crime, this may not be a tale for sensitive liseners. Please be forewarned. She very generously and courageously shared her story with the Darkness Buried Deep community, but I had second, third and fourth thoughts about including it in the podcast. However, I think that it is an integral part of our appreciation for stories of hauntings to consider this: often, ghosts are born out of unspeakable tragedy and heartbreak. We must acknowledge the harsh reality of the ghost stories. Terrible things happen to people like you and me. People just like you and me mourn the passing of victims of these terrible things.
Thank you for tuning in to this special Friday the Thirteenth episode of Darkness Buried Deep. Continue to share the scare by inviting your friends to check out the show. Give me a shout out on the Facebook fan page! I love hearing from my listeners all over the world. You guys are so cool!

Welcome to Podcast 12 of Darkness Buried Deep! Thank you for listening in. I am happy to bring you a haunted house story from Chis, Maria's night terrors, and Ginny's formally haunted house and a bevy of fascinating mystical experiences, which led into a discussion between Julia, Ginny and I about death and experiencing moments of strong connections to our deceased loved ones and even unknown ancestors. This just might be my favorite podcast - this conversation really gets to the heart of why we love ghost stories, a longing for magic, connection and comfort. Turn off all the lights and settle in for Podcast 12 of Darkness Buried Deep!

For Podcast 11, I have gone where I have never gone before for you (and never would have either if it weren't for my listeners). I followed Erin and her neighbor, Gino, into a terrifying spider infested basement. We entered a horizontal door in the sidewalk and descended into the darkness on old wooden stairs, which were opened in the back. Anything could have grabbed our ankles on the way down. Even though Erin's cellphone battery was dying, she used it as a flashlight, so Gino could "unlock" the basement door with his "butter knife" key. Erin switched on the overhead lights as Gino swiftly departed. The basement was the main level when the building was constructed. Over time, the street was raised, and the original entrance and windows were bricked over. I have never seen so many dead spiders as I did that night above our heads.
I learned a very good lesson that night. Record everything.
What you didn't hear: Erin and I were folding up our chairs. I was telling her about my experiences, which you can hear too by listening to Ghostpod #17. I told her that these things only happen to me in complete darkness. Then, all the lights went off. Yes, right then. Did I mention all the windows were bricked in? I nearly shat out all my organs. Usually, my friends freak out, and I am the cool headed one. I often enjoy a good laugh at their expense and never pass up any opportunity to rat them out to everyone else we know.... Arra So the lights went out, and I clapped my hands over my face. I shrieked, "Turn the light back on! Quick! Turn them on!!! Turn them on!!!" Erin had just enough battery power in her cellphone to find the light switch - which was.......on a timer. What a jerk. She could have told me! I demanded to go out first, but she was practically at my side. Once above ground, we laughed a lot, and Erin smoked a cigarette.
I present to you Erin on growing up spooky in New England and Leslie's haunted family! Erin is a professional psychic, healer and witch. If anything she said resonates with you or if you are seeking guidance or healing, you may contact her at [email protected].

Welcome to the first BonusCast! This is the April Fools podcast. I originally billed it the same as any show. However, in this edition of the BonusCast, I share stories from folks, who were convinced that they were experiencing paranormal activity, but they ended up feeling very foolish! A few of these stories did occur in genuinely haunted places, where there had been previous unexplained experiences. Yet, in these stories, we have a good laugh at ourselves and how we can accelerate very quickly into unfounded fear and ridiculous imaginings.
Danny meets a strange figure in the woods late one night. Yvonne and Emily recount another terrifying experience in Emily's old haunted Brooklyn apartment (more about that in Podcast 5). I included an excerpt from Podcast 8 of Juliet and I sharing my chilling journey into the basement of my former residence in Waukegan. Dave, a security guard at a resort, met a ghostly presence late one dark night, doing his rounds. We finish up with my very first submission of original music, Go To The Light from DJ People's Champion. Better late than never! Welcome to new and old listeners! This month, Arra has a two stories from her misadventures down south and three stories relating to her father. Jen's family opens a Pandora's chest of terror in an apartment building in which they used to live....
