Stalking is defined as repeated and persistent unwanted communications, approaches and intrusions into someone’s life, into their privacy, and there are many levels to it. It can a form of mental assault.

This video looks at the different kinds of stalker, (rejected, resentful, incompetent, intimacy seeker and predator) as well as the difference between when the stalker is stranger and someone you know, such as an ex partner. Looking also at the impact being stalked can have on victims.

The Dark Tetrad refers to a set of four personality traits linked to exploitative and harmful behaviours. It builds on the Dark Triad, which includes Machiavellianism, narcissism, and psychopathy, by adding a fourth trait: sadism. These traits are linked to cruel, manipulative, self-centered, and antisocial behaviours.

This podcast is the fourth part in a series looking at the different elements of the dark Tetrad, focusing on how narcissism co-occurs with the other traits and how it manifests in personal relationships, workplaces and society as a whole.

Mark Vicente is an award winning film maker and author. He is a former member, and one of the whistle blowers that exposed the criminal activities going on in the nexium cult. His story is chronicled in the HBO series, ‘The Vow’.

The Five Factor Model describes personality using five broad dimensions: Openness to Experience, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism. These traits are considered to capture the essential elements of human personality.

Professor Ed Dutton, aka The Jolly Heretic, is an Evolutionary Psychology Researcher. In this podcast we discuss the five factor model from an evolutionary perspective, looking at the different traits, the development of personality, how they can change over time, social groups, partner selection etc. Ed also outlines the characteristics of NPD and BPD through the model.

Psychopaths can be charming and charismatic, often making a strong initial impression. They use their charm to manipulate others and control their partners. They may lie frequently and convincingly, using deception to create a facade that hides their true nature.

Common characteristics include being callous and having a disregard for the safety of others. They can be quite parasitical, impulsive and engage in anti social behaviours.

It can be part of the the Dark Tetrad which consists of narcissism, psychopathy, Machiavelliansim and Sadism. People with these traits often create environments and relationships based on fear, conflict and instability.

This podcast looks at the psychopathy element of the tetrad and how it co occurs with the other traits.
