    About Dr. Arthur Miller

    Dr. Arthur I. Miller is an emeritus professor of History and Philosophy of Science at University College London. He has lectured and written extensively on the history and philosophy of 19th- and 20th-century science and technology, cognitive science, scientific creativity, and the relation between art and science.

    Miller is a fellow and former chairman of the American Physical Society and the recipient of numerous fellowships and grants from organizations including the Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation and the National Endowment for the Humanities

    He is the author of Colliding Worlds: How Cutting-Edge Science is Redefining Contemporary Art and other books including Einstein, Picasso: Space, Time, and the Beauty That Causes Havoc. His latest book is entitled The Artist In the Machine.

    Chakri Cherukuri is a senior researcher in the Quantitative Financial Research Group at Bloomberg LP. His research interests include quantitative portfolio management, algorithmic trading strategies, and applied machine learning. Chakri has extensive experience in numerical computing and software development.

    Previously, he built analytical tools for the trading desks at Goldman Sachs and Lehman Brothers. He holds an undergraduate degree in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, an MS in computer science from Arizona State University, and an MS in computational finance from Carnegie Mellon University.

Amit leads the team at Minute.ly in developing new products to help the media industry optimize video strategy and revenue.

    Amit previously founded Scratch IL, which is a software that teaches young children to code. It's currently implemented in 30 schools in Israel. Amit is currently a mentor at Google Campus specializing in Product Development. He has been a mentor at Google for past 4 and a half years and he has provided mentorship to entrepreneurs at WeWork in Israel as well. He is a graduate of the Zell Entrepreneurship Program, and he holds a B.A. in Interactive Communications and digital media from IDC Herzliya.

    Anand Rao is a Principal with PwC's US Advisory practice, with over 24 years of industry and consulting experience, helping senior executives structure, solve and manage critical issues facing their organizations. He has worked extensively on business, technology, and analytics issues across a wide range of industry sectors including Financial Services, Healthcare, Telecommunications, Aerospace & Defense, across US, Europe, Asia, and Australia. His work has included behavioral economics, simulation modeling, global growth strategies, marketing, sales, and distribution strategies, online, mobile, social media strategies, customer experience, multi-channel integration, risk management and compliance, large scale program mobilization and management. Before his consulting careers, Anand was the Chief Research Scientist at the Australian Artificial Intelligence Institute, boutique research, and software house.

    Anand has also co-edited four books on Intelligent Agents and has published over fifty papers in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence in major journals, conferences, and workshops. Anand was awarded the Most Influential Paper Award for the Decade in 2007 from the Autonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems (AAMAS) organization. He is a frequent speaker at a number of industry and academic forums. Anand holds an MSc(Tech) in Computer Science from Birla Institute of Technology and Science in India and Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Sydney, where he was awarded the University Postgraduate Research Award.     Personally, Lexy loves dogs, Geocaching, and chasing thought experiments down rabbit holes. Her current pet projects include a website all about eggs and a podcast on Data Science Ethics. Favorite languages: SQL, Python, and French.

Kartik's research work focuses on the digital economy, in particular, the impact of analytics and algorithms on consumers and society, Internet media, Internet marketing, and e-commerce.

    Kartik has been recognized as one of the world's top 40 business professors under 40. He is a ten-time recipient of MBA or Undergraduate teaching excellence awards at the Wharton School. His research has received several best paper awards. Kartik cofounded and developed the core IP for Yodle Inc, a venture-backed firm that was acquired by Web.com. Yodle was listed by Inc. Magazine among America's fastest-growing private companies. He is a co-founder of SmartyPal Inc. He has served on the advisory boards of Milo (acq. by eBay) and Monetate and is involved with many other startups as either an investor or board member. His past consulting and executive education clients include Google, American Express, Citi and others. Kartik was a co-host of the SiriusXM show The Digital Hour. He currently serves as a department editor at the journal Management Science and has previously served as a Senior Editor at the journals Information Systems Research and MIS Quarterly.

    Kartik graduated at the top of his class with a Bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering and a Masters in Information Systems from Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences (BITS, Pilani), India, and he has an MPhil in Management Science and a Ph.D. in Management Science and Information Systems from Carnegie Mellon University.

    Outside of Wharton, he likes to make short films, start companies, write books, and spend time with his kids.

Michiel holds the position of chief executive officer, after previously gaining experience in corporate finance, risk insurance, and innovation working for a variety of companies, including IBM and Marsh / Mercer.
