Episode 33 of Dateline Mousetalgia is all beignets and Blue Bayou's as we laissez les bons temps rouler and take a look at Mardi Gras at Disneyland Resort! From New Orleans Square decorations to swinging jazz bands, we'll cover our favorite ways to celebrate Mardi Gras in Disney style! In addition to covering Princess Tiana and other "The Princess and the Frog" character meet and greets, we'll discuss some tasty places to enjoy Cajun- and Creole-inspired cuisine! Also included in this week's episode is March's refurbishment and Netflix schedules, and a discussion about the March Disneybound Challenge! We'll cover Disney's 2019 Academy Award wins, and take a peek at a few upcoming events in the parks, like the Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival, and a preview of the upcoming film "Dumbo". Plus, we'll share the return date for Fantasmic, quickly covering FastPass and special dining package options. Welcome to Episode 32 of Dateline Mousetalgia! We're excited to announce the upcoming return of World of Color to Disney California Adventure! We'll discuss the delays, return dates, and take a look at the special dining package options available at the Wine Country Trattoria and the Carthay Circle Restaurant. We cover the "Celebrate Gospel" event just took place in DCA, celebrating its 10th anniversary, and then dive into the newly reopened White Water Snacks and Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar and Grill, taking a look at the menus and new decor. Plus, new tiki mugs and drinks available at Trader Sam's! Next, it's time to talk Marvel in the parks! To set the stage, we'll cover some of the upcoming films-- "Captain Marvel", our first movie in this Marvel Cinematic Universe to feature a female superhero as the lead, "Avengers: Endgame", "Spider-Man: Far From Home", "Guardians of the Galaxy 3", as well as a movie about the Black Widow! Captain Marvel will be arriving in the parks soon for a meet and greet opportunity, and we've just heard word of new Disneyland After Dark events scheduled for this year-- Disneyland After Dark Heroes Assemble, with two different date options! We'll also cover what we know of the upcoming Marvel Land scheduled to arrive in 2020. Then we'll head to the movies to take a look at various awards Disney has recently won! Grammy's, Annie Awards, BAFTA's, Golden Globes-- the works! Eight Disney-owned works are up for Academy Awards this year, nominated in several different categories! Lastly, we'll wrap up this week's episode by reflecting on the lives and careers of Ron Miller and Dave Smith.
Happy Valentine's Day from Episode 31 of Dateline Mousetalgia! Love and Disney magic are in the air as we take a look at Disneyland After Dark Sweethearts' Nite! Pink hearts galore, character couples, clever photo opportunities, live music throughout Disneyland Park, even a Royal Princess Ball-- the first Disneyland After Dark event of 2019 was a hit! We'll cover a little more of the Sleeping Beauty Castle refurbishment project that will be ongoing for the next few months, and we'll check out a new Disney Princess breakfast character dining option coming to the Napa Rose! We'll discuss many of the subtle changes that have taken place at the parks over the past few months. We've finally got a name for all of the crowd flow adjustments, small enhancements, changes, and construction that have been taking place in anticipation of the opening of Galaxy's Edge-- Project Stardust! Plus, there's a new Minnie Mouse-inspired popcorn bucket, as well as a new wall up in Mickey's Toontown!

Since it's been raining cats and dogs in Anaheim lately, we figured it's also the perfect time to discuss Disney cats and dogs! We cover merchandise, the fan-favorite feral Cats of Disneyland, as well as dogs in the parks! Plus, we'll share some fun Superbowl-related items and take a look at the Valentine's Month's treats and Minnie's Valentine's Surprise. Mickey and Minnie's 90th birthday celebrations continue at Disneyland Resort, so we'll cover the new additions to Mickey's Soundsational Parade and the Mickey's Mix Magic experience. Also-- new celebration outfits for Mickey and friends, a dance party in Tomorrowland, fun in Mickey's Toontown, and some hot new Steamboat Willie popcorn buckets! Lastly, we'll cover the upcoming Anaheim Ducks Day in Disney California Adventure, which will celebrate the team's 25th anniversary!
In Episode 29 of Dateline Mousetalgia, we cover Lunar New Year at Disney California Adventure in a little more detail, looking at activities and merchandise, as well as some great new tips regarding the Sip and Savor pass! In honor of the Year of the Pig, we take a fun look at a link between the Three Little Pigs and DCA! It's also time to look at the upcoming month's refurbishment schedule. There's quite a lot going on, most notably the major refurb of Sleeping Beauty Castle. This week marks the 60th anniversary of Disney's animated film "Sleeping Beauty", so it's also time to talk diamond anniversary-inspired merchandise and fire-breathing dragons! We'll also cover the just-announced Food and Wine Festival Signature Events and Vampirina's joining in at the Disney Junior Dance Party. Plus, updates on the upcoming D23 Expo, lots of balloons, and a whole slew of new merchandise, from attractions-themed shirts to swag inspired by tasty Disneyland treats! Lastly, we pause for a moment to reflect on the passing of animator Don Lusk, who worked on so many of our favorite Disney animated films.

From an array of purple treats to new merchandise, we discuss this new color scheme that has shown up at Disneyland Resort. Plus, it's time to "Rock the Dots" as a new line of Minnie Mouse-themed merchandise has been released in honor of National Polka Dot Day. We'll touch on Valentine's Month happenings and take a look at the Lunar New Year Celebration foods that will be available in Disney California Adventure. Plus, it's time for a few Downtown Disney updates, with the opening of the Ballast Point brewery as well as the reopening of the downstairs level of Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria. Back in Disneyland at the Tropical Hideaway, we've got a trip report complete with some audio of the lovely Rosita herself! Then, we take a look at some of the upcoming films based on and inspired by original Disney animated films-- "Dumbo", "Aladdin", "The Lion King", "Mulan"-- even "Lady and the Tramp", "Maleficent 2", and a movie about Cruella de Vil! We wrap up this week's episode with a fun little game, as we try to guess the name of various Disney attractions using only their abbreviated titles!

The Tropical Hideaway in Adventureland has finally opened, and we're excited to discuss all the details-- dates, décor, and best of all-- new Dole Whip flavors! We take a look at the eats available, from three kinds of bao to a portable ramen shaker! Rosita delights and new tropical plumeria ears add some extra style. We'll also cover January's attraction refurbishment and Netflix schedules, and we'll check out the new "Mary Poppins Returns" Practically Perfect wall in Disney California Adventure. While World of Color is sadly still on hold, we look forward to the festivities for New Year's Eve in the Parks! From dining options to dance options, there are a few different places to enjoy the countdown to midnight! We'll also take an in-depth look at the upcoming Three Kings Day, or Día de los Reyes Magos, happenings in DCA, which celebrates Epiphany. Lastly, we'll take a quick look at the state of Pixar and Walt Disney Studios creative leadership as significant transitions are taking place.
