Title: Shake it off Speaker: Pastor Jason Sparks Sunday Morning Service Date: September 13, 2026

[Revelation-007] Revelation 9: The Demonic Invasion - Rev 9 by Dr. John Brumett Date of Service: Sep 13 2026 (Hour 1)

This sermon examines 2 Peter 1:12-21 to establish the authority of Scripture over personal experience and human tradition. It contrasts the eyewitness testimony of the Transfiguration with the enduring reliability of the written Word, arguing that the Bible is a 'more sure word' that outlasts the lives of the apostles. The teaching emphasizes that prophecy is a light for believers to 'take heed' to, rather than a puzzle for private interpretation, and warns against adding dates or doctrines not found in the text. The preacher encourages the congregation to adopt the Berean attitude of receiving the Word with readiness while diligently searching the Scriptures to verify its truth.

This sermon draws from Zechariah 1:7 to encourage believers to remain persistent in their service despite feelings of futility or opposition. The speaker highlights that God uses historical details, such as the date and political subjection under Darius, to remind His people that He remains sovereign over all earthly powers. By noting that Babylon has fallen while Persia rules, the message underscores that no government holds ultimate authority apart from divine permission. The central theme is that faithful labor in ministry is never in vain because God controls history and current events. Believers are urged to trust in God's unchanging power rather than discouraging circumstances.
