Psalm 23:1-2
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
What are your green pastures? Why does the psalm say He makes me lie down in green pastures? Let's talk about it!

If your view of God is distorted, your view of life will be also. If you wear glasses, you know what this is like. The same images are there, but without your glasses, the way you see them is distorted.

Season 3 is here folks!
I wanted to start this season with a quote from my mentor.
"Let your soul win."
When she said this to me, I was floored. How often do we do things that cause our souls to lose? What does this mean and look like in my life? Letting my soul win? What does it look like in yours?

Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

I'm ruining my present by worrying about my future. There's a reason God says today's troubles are enough for today.
Tomorrow's troubles can be dwelled on tomorrow.
Is death a real reality? Yes. Is it unhealthy to think about death? Tune in to hear my thoughts.

We're "Hitting the Books" in this episode. I discuss the book, "Becoming a Woman that Listens to God," by Sharon Jaynes.
In this book, she shared several ways that God speaks to us. He speaks through friends, His Word, circumstances, and so much more.

John 15:7 But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!
#1) God is not a genie, abiding in Him changes us. We begin to desire what He desires.
#2) Just because you ask for something doesn't mean you should get it.
What makes this concept so difficult in verse seven? We're afraid to ask because we don't know what will happen. We're afraid to ask because we might get what we wanted or needed.
This verse is empowering, yet we don't always realize it.

Thank you to E from my small group that dropped this gem of wisdom on us. Practice is progress.
It's so easy to rush through life or to rush progression. I've said it before, the process is the glory. What you need to develop to be the best you in the future is found in the process of development.

This was one of the books that changed my life essentially. Several reasons:
1) It spoke to a place I was at in life.
2) It is well written.
3) It is the book that made me fall in love with reading.
Thank you Stephanie Perry Moore for this book.
