The Utah System of Higher Education launches ‘Admit Utah,’ the state’s first simplified and guaranteed admissions initiative designed with access for all students in mind. AdmitUtah.org will serve as a central platform for students, families and educators to navigate the college admissions process seamlessly. Cydni Tetro, Utah Board of Higher Education Member, who worked on the Admit Utah task force, joins D2 to talk about the new program.

New technology said to be up and running by October 7th should provide notice to residents on the north and south of a train crossing how long the wait could be, allowing residents to decide if a reroute if necessary. It only took three days for the threat of economic disaster to influence port operators to come to a resolution with striking workers. The union representing striking dockworkers along the U.S. East and Gulf Coasts have reached a tentative deal agreeing to an immediate $4/hour raise followed by an additional $4/hour raise every year for the next six years.
