Early Halloween shopping is on the rise, with 47% of survey participants beginning their shopping before October, according to the National Retail Federation’s annual survey conducted by Prosper Insights & Analytics. The figure is up from 37% reported in 2019. Helene made landfall in Florida's Big Bend region Thursday night as a massive Category 4 hurricane -- the strongest hurricane to make landfall in the Big Bend on record. As the storm moves into Georgia and the Carolinas, various storm warnings across Florida have been lifted or downgraded. It is estimated that 4.4 million people are without power.
