We’ve all seen the videos of people running into stores, grabbing expensive merchandise and then running off without anyone in the store trying to stop them. Retail crime is a growing concern across the United States and it is a far more sophisticated operation than most people think. The National Federation of Retailers is now doing their best to shine a spotlight on this massive problem and as part of a coordinated effort to raise awareness, they have declared today (October 26) as Fight Retail Crime Day. He has been fighting retail crime for over a decade.

The United Auto Workers Union strike is making progress at least with one company.The Ford Motor Co. and the United Auto Workers Union (the “UAW”) have reached a tentative agreement that would end the strike at Ford, two people with knowledge of the negotiations confirmed to ABC News. As of this writing, an official announcement was expected pending approval of UAW leadership, per those same sources.Spokespersons for both Ford Motor and the UAW have declined to comment on the tentative deal.  MIKE DOBUSKI, ABC NEWS TECHNOLOGY REPORTER has the latest on the strike. 

Republicans unanimously elected Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) as House speaker on Wednesday, elevating a deeply conservative but lesser-known leader to the major seat of U.S. power. 26 days until election day in Utah. This is a few weeks later than normal. Usually it's the first Tuesday in November... but when Congressman Chris Stewart retired from Congress in September things got pushed back a few weeks.  Dave and Leah speak with Democratic Candidate Kathleen Riebe about her campaign as well as her thoughts on the latest with the speaker of the house of representatives.

Authorities provide an update in the deadly shooting in Maine. 18 people are dead and 13 people injured after a man opened fire at a bar and a bowling alley in Lewiston, Maine last night. Robert Card, the Suspect is still at large according to police. His vehicle has been found and an  arrest warrant has been issued. Police say Card has a history of military service, is a firearms instructor and was treated at a mental-health facility over the summer. Dave and Leah listen to updates from authorities and speak with KSL Newsradio Reporter Adam Small who is from Maine, about the impact this has on the community.
