Cierra has collected $150,000 with the help of her ward to fly in supplies in a private plane to Lahaina.

The President of the Utah Farm Bureau Ron Gibson has resigned. This comes after Gibson was arrested on August 8th for an investigation of assault. Gibson is also being investigated for human trafficking. Mike Anderson with KSL 5 TV joins the show with the latest updates.

The inflation reduction act has turned 1 year old today... Inflation is costing Americans an additional $709 a month... for the exact same stuff they could buy two years ago. After months and months of inflation coming back down to earth... it slightly increased in July by 0.2%. Inflation is now at 3.2%... it's down from it's 40 year high of nearly 10%... but it still falls short of the goal. Dave and Debbie speak with Professor of Economics at BYU Christian Vom Lehn.

According to KSL 5 TV, A 17-year-old boy is recovering from a gunshot wound following a shooting in the Ballpark neighborhood Sunday morning and members of the community are now worried about the increase in shootings in the area. Dave and Debbie speak with Shelby Lofton with KSL 5 TV who has looked into this matter.

Thousands of 5 year olds are heading off to full day kindergarten this school year. The state board of education issued data that says the demand in Utah is huge and it's growing. Last year there were 7200 more kids enrolled in full day Kindergarten than the year before. Schools also added more than 300 full day kindergarten classrooms. Dave and Debbie discuss the pros and cons of full day kindergarten and take listener calls.

People who live in hard hit areas around Lahaina... are cut off from much of the world. Now, officials are urging people to curtail usage of cell phones. Dave and Debbie speak with Hula Kalua-Santiago who is a part of the UVU Pacific Islander Initiate about the issue with communication on the island.
