The White House on Tuesday slammed a reported House GOP proposal to deal with the debt ceiling, which prioritizes making only certain payments while stopping others. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said: “This is not a plan. It is a recipe for economic catastrophe" She claimed that the plan proposes making payments to foreign investors while cutting payments for border security, the FAA, drug enforcement, and school lunches. “Congress ... is going to need to address the debt without conditions...there should be no hostage taking here. There should be no attempts to exploit the debt ceiling or ... to leverage it,” she said. Justin Finch, ABC News Correspondent joins.
