August 13, 2021Cork Singer Songwriter Sean Murphy (All The Queen's Horses)Having lived in Dublin as well as London for a lengthy period of time Sean is coming home to Cork! Here he tells us how he came 3rd in an international song writing contest previously won by another Cork man, Mick Flannery. Selected by a serious jury panel including: Tom Waits, Coldplay, Bastille and Fleet Foxes, the comp attracted 26,000 applicants from 158 countries. His homemade lockdown album saw him score a record deal, his new label submitted the song – and new single - ‘Jocelyn’ album and it saw him finish third. A huge result! The songs theme is the Irish diaspora of the 60's and how difficult a journey it would have been for many of them, specially it tells the story of one girl who went abroad and things didn't work out for...
