Dave 'Softy' Mahler and Dick Fain

Possibly the biggest question heading into this Sunday's Hawks game is how the secondary will perform against Pittsburgh's passing game. Can the defense making JuJu Smith-Schuster a non-factor? Maybe they'll have to do the non-Seahawk thing and flip Griffin. Petros Papadakis reacts to Lynn Swann's departure from USC as the dominoes begin to fall, plus thoughts on the Husky game, and an Ed Orgeron impression. Textimonials react to the first two hours of the show at 49451.

We get Rick Neuheisel's thoughts on last Saturday's Husky loss; the delay, clock management, and more, plus a pick after going 3-0 in the last three weeks. Kevin Harlan discusses the sexual assault allegations against Antonio Brown, plus thoughts on Deshaun Watson, and what's up with the Steelers? Paul Allen of KFAN in Minneapolis makes a bet with Softy on tonight's Seattle Storm vs. Minnesota Lynx game.

Every Tuesday at 3pm, it's the 20th year of the Husky Honks with Hugh Millen, Dick Baird, and Softy on 950 KJR presented by frost-brewed Coors Light; mountain cold refreshment, made to chill. Also sponsored by Star Rentals, the preferred supplier of the West's best contractors. Dick picks Houston getting 9 against the Cougs on Fact or Fiction.

A lot went into the Dawgs' narrow loss against Cal; dropped balls, clock management, red zone problems, but was the lightning delay one of many factors that had an impact? Playing at 1:30 in the morning in front of 15,000 home fans instead of 70,000 could have made just enough of a difference, but Softy doesn't even want to go there. Jon Wilner predicted this loss. He joins the show to discuss the game, and other events around the conference. Textimonials weigh in on the game at 49451.

It's an action-packed final hour (and a half) of the show, with Walter Jones taking a look at the Seahawks O-Line. ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio going over all of the news in the NFL, including the crazy ending to the Monday Night game, Gronk's tweet, new Antonio Brown news, and more. Maybe Pittsburgh's just not that good. Everyone seems to expect they'll be fired up on Sunday, but after the way the Hawks played in week 1, they might also come out angry. The Sounders lose over the weekend, missing a huge portion of the team. Head coach Brian Schmetzer talks about the team's plans to get things back on track against the New York Red Bulls. Joel Klatt tells Husky fans not to use the lightning delay as an excuse for the Cal loss if those same fans left, taking away the home field advantage.

It's a short Monday show with two NFL games tonight on SportsRadio 950 KJR. We begin the show abruptly with Pete Carroll speaking to the press about yesterday's 21-20 win over the Bengals. It wasn't exactly a convincing win with some sloppy play on both sides of the ball, but a win is a win. The Dawgs on the other hand lost to Cal in a game that saw a two-hour delay thanks to thunderstorms, ending at nearly 1:30am with a Cal field goal. UCLA continues to look awful, and Softy says Oklahoma will crush them this week on Fact or Fiction. Hawks win, so we get to hear the game from the other guys' perspective on the Opponent Audio Recap from the Bengals Radio Network.

In the first week of the Seattle Seahawks season, the team came out with a 21-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. We tune in to 102.7 WEBN in Cincy to hear how it sounded in Ohio with the voices of the Bengals, Dan Hoard (play-by-play) and Dave Lapham (analyst).

It's finally here. The NFL season begins in full on Sunday and Hawks fans should be pumped. If you weren't excited before, Clowney gives the extra edge the defense needed making this a solid team all the way around. So what can we expect out of Clowney? We talk with SportsTalk 790 in Houston's Sean Salisbury about the kind of player we've gotten. Softy takes the Ravens for the last Fact or Fiction pick of the week. Dick and Dave are in the locker room talking with Jacob Eason and Salvon Ahmed.

Sean Salisbury last hour seemed pretty positive about Jadeveon Clowney's attitude and ability on the field. Is he going to be everything we had hoped, and are you buying the hype around this team right now? You know you've hit rock bottom when OJ Simpson is giving you advice, but that's where Antonio Brown is right now. That and more on Fun with Audio. Textimonials react to the first two hours of the show at 49451.

Outside of Clowney, and hwo the defense looks up front, the other thing to watch for is the secondary. They weren't great last year, but if they (specifically Shaquill) can have a great year, the Hawks should be in good shape. Bob Rondeau gives his thoughts on the Dawgs game last weekend, and expectations for tomorrow's game against Cal. It's the first Dixon Percentage Index since March Madness; will the Hawks defeat the Bengals, and will they make the playoffs this year?
