It's been a rough July for the Mariners. It isn't even that their record has been horrible. It's been pretty average in fact. The offense though, has been awful, and to make matters worse, Oakland won't stop winning. We all kept dismissing Oakland, but now they're tied for the wildcard and can't be dismissed any longer. The offense needs to wake up. We all expect the A's to regress to the mean, but maybe it's time for the M's to progress to the mean. On today's Hey, Did You Hear That?, Geoff Schwartz takes shots at the Hawks' offensive line, and Marshawn Lynch relives The Play. Justin Britt talks to Dick Fain for a few minutes today at training camp. We hear from Scott Servais after a big loss to a key opponent in the Houston Astros.

We've reached the trade deadline, and Jerry Dipoto didn't make the blockbuster trade everyone was anticipating, but he did make a bunch of smaller trades, including acquiring center-fielder Cameron Maybin for a couple of minor leaguers. Dipoto has acquired 9 of the guys on the 25-man roster since last fall, and all of the changes have been positive. Earl Thomas' agent made some pretty interesting comments regarding fans supporting teams over players. Were his comments out-of-line? Ian Rapoport reports that the Seahawks have told Earl they aren't willing to negotiate and that they're done with him.
