Dave 'Softy' Mahler and Dick Fain

After mopping the floor with LSU, Softy isn't doubting Alabama again. Despite the huge spread, it's your Fact or Fiction pick today. Who deserves a piece of the blame pie after the Hawks game this week? Looking at the last drive, maybe a lot of it goes to coaching. Joel Klatt of Fox Sports talks Apple Cup and Rose Bowl potential, the Pac-12 South abomination, and all things college football. Texts weigh in on this weekend's games. Softy wonders why the Dawgs didn't try to get Stanford's defense to jump off-sides toward the end of the game. Chris Petersen isn't interested in the idea.

After watching old Husky games, Dick realized how much the atmosphere at Husky Stadium has changed over the years. Why is it so quiet on Montlake these days? The team wasn't on top for well over a decade, and this year the team isn't meeting the high expectations that were set before the season. With so much time since the last appearance in the Rose Bowl, and the creation of the College Football Playoff, have fans, especially younger ones, lost the appreciation of a trip to Pasadena? The Hawks face off against the L.A. Chargers this weekend, and Chargers play-by-play voice, and Petros' co-host Matt "Money" Smith gives us a preview.

Final Fact or Fiction pick of the week, and Softy is taking a total. Jason Puckett labeled Jacob Eason a quitter earlier today for leaving Georgia and coming to Washington, but let's fact check that. Gardner Minshew also voluntarily left ECU. Rick Neuheisel shares his thoughts on last weekend's Washington game, this weekend's Georgia vs. Kentucky game, and all things college football. Textimonials weigh in on why Husky Stadium is so quiet nowadays.

It's another edition of Fun with Audio, complete with Nick Mullens getting emotional in the locker room, Matt Patricia ripping a reporter for his posture, Matt Berry's fantasy football rant, and Mike Leach on stripper costumes. Bob Rondeau has some thoughts on last weekend's Husky game, how they'll fair this weekend, and his pick of the week. Anthony Beyrouti of Venue Kings gives away tickets for the Hawks and Dawgs. Softy checks in with Seahawks punter Michael Dickson.

We expected this Hawks defense to be okay this year; probably around the middle of the pack, but we didn't expect them to be great. Right now, they're fourth in scoring, and that'll probably come down a bit in the next couple of weeks, but they'll bounce back after that. The question is, will they be a top 10 defense in scoring at the end of the year, and more importantly, are they legit? Dick and Dave are in the locker room talking with Ed Dickson and Tre Flowers. Lee Sterling makes his picks for this weekend's football games.

Nick Mullens is the favorite in tonight's game? That doesn't seem possible. The pick is Oakland +1. Mike Holmgren is on the road because he'll be calling the Niners-Raiders game, but he still finds time to call in and talk about everything Seahawks. Softy and Dick spend a few minutes looking at tonight's Bay Area matchup, and could the 49ers turn this dreadful season into a number one draft pick? Even if they do, they'll be a couple years away from competing with the Seahawks and Rams. Chris Petersen has his weekly Q&A as the team hopes to regain some clout against Stanford this weekend.

As Jake Browning's college career at UW draws closer to an end, the question has been asked more and more often; what will his legacy be at the University of Washington? He's the first quarterback in school history to lead a team to a college football playoff, but he's also known for coming up short in big games. Now, after a season that at this point looks to have fallen short of expectations, some have further questions about how he'll be remembered in the history of Husky football. Softy and Dick Fain share their thoughts, and take calls from Husky fans all hour on the subject.

Softy's Fact or Fiction play today: Michigan State. KJ Wright catches up with Softy this afternoon at the VMAC, and among other things, says he hasn't yet entered contract negotiations with the Seahawks. Petros Papadakis has some thoughts on the Huskies after last weekend's loss, whether they can rally, and if the Cougs should be concerned about Call. Textimonials continue the conversation about Jake Browning's legacy at UW.

Dick and Dave are in the locker room checking in with JR Sweezy and Aaron Fuller. Kevin Harlan gives his thoughts on sports betting, the Seahawks, and the battle of two good guys as quarterbacks. Russell Wilson's passer rating when using play-action has jumped to 139.2 this year thanks to the arrival of a running game.

Softy and Dick are joined by Walter Jones on the improved Seahawks offensive line. Then, Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk on the NFL Trade Deadline and later Sounders Head Coach Brian Schmetzer and Tuesday's with NHL's Seattle Dave Tippett.
