Tony Softli continues to fill in for Dick Fain as we all continue to fight our way through the smoke that has enveloped everything. One would imagine bad air quality like this would be reason enough to move practice inside, but it was business as usual at the VMAC Rashaad Penny is in Philadelphia getting his finger worked on. Reports are that the surgery went well. Don't they always go well though? Tony recalls an incident involving a player when he was with Carolina when it did not go as well. James Paxton was hit in the forearm and is on the 10-day disabled list. Adam thinks he should toughen up. Ian Furness talked to Pete Carroll earlier this afternoon. The Mariners just wrapped up a 12-inning day game in Oakland, and they won! Dee Gordon hit a two-run homer in the top of the 12th, and Edwin ?Diaz closed it out. Some fans have ben quick to criticize him based on his play this year, but let's not forget what he's meant to this organization for over a decade. Hopefully he can re-gain his glory and return to the starting rotation. The Seahawks played their first pre-season game last night. It gave us our first opportunity to see some of the new guys in action. Softy and Donald talk about what they liked and didn't like from the team last night.
