Have you heard about what’s happening to those in the “Land Down Under”? They’re going through one of the most stringent economic lock-downs ever. 

You see while we’re enjoying the best of summer time, up here in the States. It’s just the opposite for the Aussies. They are in the middle of their winter. The time when respiratory disease, colds, flu and the dreaded DELTA Variety of the Covid Virus strike the hardest. 

In reviewing this week's economic reports from around the Globe, the outstanding results were just how mild inflation remains everywhere...except here in the America.

On this Fourth Of July Holiday Weekend:

The USA leads the world in both inflation and it's trade deficit. Not necessarily a good thing! 

One of the largest puzzles about our economy currently is the large number of job openings, that don't seem to have anyone who wants to apply for those jobs.

The economy appears to be on a steady road to recovery, and a good number, perhaps 10 million or so, are out of work.

So why aren't people stepping up and applying for those open jobs?

This should be the best of all times for the four companies which have developed the Covid-19 Vaccine. The financial markets are in an ebullient mood. Yesterday saw the Standard and Poors 500 achieve yet another record this year. The 18th, in what has been a record breaking year.

Investment Bankers, like Goldman Sachs, are among the most thorough managers in the country.

When they reach a major corporate decision, like moving a key division half way across the country, you can bet it has been thoroughly vetted.

It turns out that the combination of naive young people, and sophisticated data collection, the kind they have at social media sites lie Facebook. Well it turns out that combination is very bad.

That the private information about those kids, likely ends up in the hands of some really sinister people. To the detriment of kids.

It's a declaration that is destine to go down in the annuals of American Business as a turning point. A statement that will change our perception of the role of the modern American Multinational Corporation.

The occasion was the Quarterly Earnings Conference Call by Nike, Incorporated. The Speaker was the Chief Executive Officer of Nike, John Donahoe.

There was so much data thrown at us this week, that I was really having a hard time putting it all together. Everything seemed to be on the one hand good, on the other hand bad. Reports were all over the place, and didn't make much sense.

Until I laid them out chronologically. It was then I realized that what we saw this week was a combination of final, but old reports ending in Q1, followed by up-to-date reports, ending right about now.

It was the largest gift in history. And outright transfer of cash from our government to it's tax payers. And literally there has never been anything like it.

Today, we received the latest report on the Personal Income of the people of the United States. And you can clearly see the big hits of cash, coming into the collective bank accounts of our citizens.
