  • DawgmanRadio: A final practice recap, and position rankings!

It's just one guy from Dawgman.com today - Chris Fetters - and he was on hand to watch Washington's final practice of fall camp. It was roughly two hours long and covered a lot of the same ground the last few practices have.

He gave a quick practice recap on some of the things he saw of note, and then went into a segment inspired by the Mac and Mounger show.

Jack McCauley and Luke Mounger put out their position rankings from 11-1 during their Friday morning preseason podcast, and Chris decided to follow suit. And with no one else there to argue with him, they have to be taken as the gospel.

But listen to what Jack and Luke said, and then compare them to Chris's position-by-position rankings and see who you line up with.

  • The Mac and Mounger Show: It's Our Final Preseason Pod!

For the final part of Fall Camp, Jack McCauley and Luke Mounger get together to drop a Mac and Mounger podcast. The former interns share their positional power rankings for the Washington Husky football team that is slated to take the field for the 2026 season on Sunday, September 6th against the Washington State Cougars.

After each shares their list and defends their stance, the duo moves onto Betting B1G, making three win-total bet plays for Big Ten Conference teams before they begin their 2026 season.

Finally, reprising the Confidence Interval segment, Jack and Luke share how likely they believe it is for Washington to exceed their Vegas-projected win total of 7.5 games.

  • DawgmanRadio: One more day to go and then it's Game Week!

The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds and Chris Fetters - watched Thursday's practice and then had a chance to offer up their thoughts on what they saw and how the Washington Huskies are shaping up heading into game week.

We're 10 days away from the Huskies taking on cross-state rivals Washington State in the Apple Cup, and right now the guys got to see a team that is in the final phases of getting the foundation laid before game week hits. And that means detail to game situations, substitutions, specific special teams moments, etc... that are all the final pieces to the overall puzzle the Huskies are trying to solve.

Depth charts are emerging on both sides of the ball, the team has stayed pretty healthy all things considered, and now it's getting very close to playing some football against someone else. Kim and Chris talked about those depth charts, who has solidified spots in their minds, and who could surprise ahead of UW's unveiling of their own official two-deeps early next week.

They also talk about the benefits of playing the game on Sunday, how they'll have a national audience all to themselves and will also be able to showcase the best of UW Football and the University of Washington to a ton of regional recruits on what is expected to be a beautiful Seattle Sunday.

  • DawgmanRadio: Wednesday's practice saw the Huskies inch that much closer to game week

The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds and Chris Fetters - spoke after a two-hour Wednesday workout inside Husky Stadium that saw the Washington Huskies go through a number of team periods at thud tempo, as well as a few periods where the first team offense and defense were getting scout team looks, much like they would during a normal game week.

Kim feels like starting quarterback Demond Williams is head and shoulders better than a year ago, while Chris is looking forward to seeing how Demond processes things and executes once he's playing a defense that doesn't wear Purple and Gold.

On defense, there were a couple of linebackers limited or out, so we got to see a big dose of both MIKs, Taariq Al-Uqdah and Jacob Manu. Is that a combination we could see more of during the season, depending on down and distance and game situation? And one EDGE Chris was asked about this week stepped up with a big Wednesday practice... could it mean the beginning of Logan George and his ascent up the EDGE depth chart?

And before they give their final thoughts - which includes some talk on the celebrations for the 2016 team planned during Apple Cup week, as well as the seven captains named ahead of the 2026 season (Williams, John Mills, Landen Hatchett, Drew Azzopardi, Elinneus Davis, Manu, and Alex McLaughlin) - Kim and Chris have differing opinions on which right guard will end up with the most snaps in 2026; Geirean Hatchett or Champ Taulealea?

  • DawgmanRadio: Talking Apple Cup Preparations, Players Returning To The Fold

The Huskies took the field in the Dempsey Indoor facility on Tuesday as they continued preparations for the 118th Apple Cup vs. Washington State as they will host their cross-state rivals on Sunday, September 6th, the day before Labor Day. It was a spirited two-and-a-half-hour practice that saw a handful of team periods and several players who were either out or limited previously participating in practice.

Dawgman's Scott Eklund and Kim Grinolds were on hand and shared there thoughts starting with which players were back and participating fully, including cornebacker Dylan Robinson, linebacker Jacob Manu and defensive lineman Kai McClendon.

They also discussed some of the big plays that took place, from Taariq Al-Uqdah's diving interception to some big plays that were turned in by the wideouts and tailbacks.

Eklund and Grinolds also discussed the recent announcement by pretty much every major FBS conference, including the Big Ten and SEC, that they will not accept players who were on pro teams and in training camps who wish to re-enroll and play college football.

  • DawgmanRadio: Our post-Mock Game thoughts

The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Scott Eklund - got together and talked about the nearly 90-play public scrimmage that took place Saturday night at Husky Stadium.

It was billed as a 'mock game' for the fans and definitely shorter than the guys anticipated in terms of total plays and there was a lot of situational work and special teams on display, but it wasn't exactly the easiest practice to follow because of what they were trying to get accomplished. In short, the ball moved around all over the place and didn't share much in common with the previous play in terms of down and distance.

That said, they saw some strong performances on both sides of the ball, starting with Demond Williams on offense and Jacob Lane and Ramzak Fruean on defense. Williams unofficially threw for well over 200 yards on 15-18 passing and two touchdowns - one to Christian Moss and one to Baron Naone. First-year quarterback Derek Zammit threw the only other touchdown of the night, an 11-yard strike to first-year walk-on receiver Asa Thompson.

With Jedd Fisch saying post-practice that all the players that have been previously held out of competitive situations will be fully ready to go starting Sunday, the guys talked about the depth at both quarterback and running back and how those rooms look right now.

They also gave their props to the defensive effort on display, especially at the line of scrimmage and with Ksani Jiles' 40-yard pick six off Treston Kini McMillan.

After 14 practices, the real preparations start toward Washington State tomorrow. The guys talked about the media schedule ahead, the practices they will be covering and what to look forward to as the Huskies get closer and closer to game week.

  • DawgmanRadio: Day 13 was what we thought it was going to be

The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds and Chris Fetters - were on hand for a shortened Washington practice, one we anticipated because the Huskies are going to be playing a lot Saturday night during their Mock Game.

The mock game, which starts at 6:30 pm inside Husky Stadium, will be the last chance UW fans will get to watch the team in person before they line up for their season opener against Washington State on Sunday, Sept. 6.

And remember, the Fan Fest starts at 4:30, so bring your family! We're not sure whether or not the players and coaches will be there to sign autographs and take pictures before the game or after that game - we've heard both - so be there just to make sure. And the traffic, with 405 closures and the Mariners game too - isn't going to be great, so plan ahead.

What did Kim and Chris see during Friday's workout? Basically what they thought they would, including a lot of clean up work and periods dedicated strictly to special teams. But there were definitely some other things of note to talk about, including the effect of the NCAA's successful appeal and what that meant for Grady Gross and Ta'ita'i Uiagalelei. The story for those two is far from over.

And there was a great sequence at the very end of practice involving Defensive Line Quality Control Coach Korey Rush, Darin Conley, and a reward handed out by Jedd Fisch. You'll have to listen in to get the full story, but it's a good one!

  • DawgmanRadio: Day 12 observations and a look ahead to the Mock Game

The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Scott Eklund - were at Thursday's practice number 12 for the Washington Huskies, and there was a lot to talk about on both sides of the ball there.

With many of their starters being wrapped in cotton wool in the meantime, that gave a lot of other players opportunities to step up, and they did.

And interestingly enough, Scott thought the offense got the better of the defense while Chris thought it was the other way around. Why?

Starting with the offense, the guys talked through the players that stood out to them, what their pecking order might look like heading into game one against Washington State on Sept 6, and then moved to the defense to talk about the players that impressed them on that side of the ball.

And this is the last time the three will see the Huskies practice together before Saturday's Mock Game; what are they expecting on Saturday? And almost as important - who are they expecting to see play on Saturday night?

  • DawgmanRadio: Day 11 sees a lot of competitive periods inside Husky Stadium

The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds and Chris Fetters - had things to say about day 11 of Washington's fall camp practice, one that looked like it was going to be a carbon copy of Tuesday's workout on the east field, but then the team ran into Husky Stadium and that's when things got interesting.

The music got cranked, they inserted a ton of crowd noise as well, and it became a Tylenol Special. If it was done to induce headaches for all the players, it worked.

The competitive periods were geared a little bit toward the offense in terms of where they started their drives on the field and also due to the fact that they were playing at 'thud' tempo, meaning just short of full speed without contact taking ballcarriers to the ground.

Before talking about the offensive players that stood out, Kim and Chris gave their thoughts on Washington's newest roster inclusion, former placekicker Grady Gross. The same Colorado-based court decision that allowed DL Ta'ita'i Uiagalelei to return to Montlake also gave Gross an opportunity to come back and kick for the Purple and Gold.

But what does that mean for Tyler Robles? What does it mean in terms of who will kick the ball off now for the Huskies?

After that, it was all about the final competitive team periods, which went roughly 80 plays. Who stood out, especially at receiver? Who participated that hadn't up to that point? Who stayed out of the periods?

The guys talk about all of those things, and more. They also preview the upcoming practices and which ones the fans should see ahead of Saturday night's Mock Game inside Husky Stadium.

  • DawgmanRadio: Day 10 begins the real Dawg Days of training camp

The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds and Chris Fetters - dissect what they saw on day 10 of UW fall training camp, and also what needs to happen for certain players that have been held out and what they need to do to show that they're ready to go.

You're starting to get to that stage in camp where coaches are going to have to start making decisions. Special Teams Coordinator Chris Petrilli said by the end of the week he'll have a much better idea of who they will be targeting as their returners.

The same thing will be happening on both sides of the ball. Kim and Chris go through the positions, starting first on the offensive side of the ball and then the defense, talking about the players that have emerged, the players that have been held out, and where the position battles need to be joined before the Huskies really get after their Apple Cup preparations starting next week.
