The Dawgman.com interns - Luke Mounger, Jack McCauley, and Josh Wodka - preview Oregon State's offense, defense, and also give their bets to bark and confidence intervals of a Washington win Friday night at Husky Stadium.
The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Scott Eklund - got together to record their Oregon State pregame show, but something weird happened along the way. Blame it on the crazy impending weather, blame it on a lack of sleep or coffee, blame it on us getting ahead of the Pac-12 After Dark madness, but this conversation started a bit off the rails and arguably went downhill from there.
The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Scott Eklund - broke down all the conversations they had with the Washington coaches and players ahead of their Friday night showdown with No. 24 Oregon State, and Kim and Chris also recapped the things that stood out to them after UW's 95-64 exhibition win over Alaska-Fairbanks this week at Alaska Airlines Arena.
Washington coaches Ryan Grubb, Inoke Breckterfield, Eric Schmidt, William Inge, and Chuck Morrell spoke to the media this week ahead of Friday night's game against Oregon State at Husky Stadium.
Here is everything Noah Williams, Keion Brooks, and Mike Hopkins had to say after Washington's 95-64 exhibition win over Alaska-Fairbanks Tuesday night at Alaska Airlines Arena.
Michael Penix, Jr., Wayne Taulapapa, Rome Odunze, Geirean Hatchett, Asa Turner, and Mishael Powell spoke to the media this week ahead of Washington's game versus Oregon State.
On Monday, it was just Washington Head Coach Kalen DeBoer who took questions from the media instead of him and the coordinators. It's a short week for the Huskies, as they were right in the middle of preparations to host Oregon State Friday night at Husky Stadium. Here is everything DeBoer said about last week's BYE week, this week's opponent, and more.
Dawgman.com's Kim Grinolds was on hand in San Francisco this week during Pac-12 Media Day for Men's Basketball, and it was there where he was able to get some exclusive 1-on-1 interviews with the UW players and coaches on hand. It was a chance to catch up with guard Jamal Bey, who has been at Montlake long enough now to call himself a UW graduate. In fact, he's already taking Master's-level classes after earning his undergraduate degree in Medical Anthropology.
Grinolds talked to Bey about his decision to come back to UW, his time in Seattle, his teammates, and especially the relationship he has with the UW coaches and what he expects to see from this year's Hoop Dawgs.
There may not be a Washington football game this weekend as the Huskies take their BYE week, but the guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Scott Eklund - still have plenty to talk about.
They posted their mid-season awards earlier in the week, and that's where they started. And any conversation when it comes to the top players so far through 8 games, it all has to start with quarterback Michael Penix Jr. The senior from Florida has absolutely lit it up for the Huskies in 2022, as he leads the country in passing yards per game.
The guys also talked a little bit about the offense in general, with some specific conversations about the running backs and receivers, as well as the job new Offensive Coordinator Ryan Grubb has done. Do we think he'll be in line for a head coaching job soon?
The talk then moves to the defensive side of the ball, including discussion on why the defense has struggled in general, what are they going to do about the secondary issues, and how big an impact Tuli Letuligasenoa has made to the defensive front so far this season.
After a break to pay some bills, the guys come back to talk about this week's Pac-12 Men's Basketball Media Day, including the storylines for the Hoop Dawgs coming into the season. How will Keion Brooks fit in as a new transfer from Kentucky? How much will he be counted on to take the scoring load given up when Terrell Brown, Jr. graduated? And who will be counted on to put the ball in the net from deep? And how big an impact will the transfer bigs - Franck Kepnang from Oregon and Braxton Meah from Fresno State - make over the course of the season? And can this group be the one that gets the zone back working to the point where it is a legitimate weapon in Mike Hopkins' arsenal?
Scott finishes up the podcast with a quick recruiting update, including where some of the coaches were at during the BYE week, and then they give their final thoughts as the Huskies look ahead to hosting the Oregon State Beavers this coming Friday night at Husky Stadium.
Luke Mounger and Jack McCauley are joined by special guest, former UW player Jason Crandall, as they break down their 2022-23 season thoughts ahead of Tuesday's exhibition game versus Alaska-Fairbanks.
