Dawson's Critique: A Dawson's Creek Podcast

This episode is starts and ends strong and then who knows what happens in the middle. Why are there so many garbage men on our screen. Like what's a test we can do to measure just how many garbage men are in an episode of television and then we can make sure people know that if you fail that test it is the worst because here we are.

Good to know Joey isn't the only one trying to make friends with high school kids. We couldn't hate Doug and Mr. Witter more. We don't know why Patrick and Harley are on our screens for SO long. Ugh. What a bummer after last week.

We have arrived. It's Castaways. The only episode where we'll accept that Jack and Jen are gone. The episode that makes us scream and drop to the floor and compare to every other episode. The jewel in the crown of season 6.

We hope we did it justice. It was a dream come true.

We have arrived at this absolute gem of an episode. We love every second of it. We have our favorite character, Drunk Joey. We have Jack, Pacey, Jen, and Joey friendship moments. We have Dawson and Audrey friendship delightful moments.

This is an oasis in the desert of season 6!

Rock bottom indeed. This episode it so much. A bad remix of Pacey and Joey's great run in Home Movies, as well as a bad remake of Crossroads, and a bunch of new people we can't stand and no explanations about anything anyone is feeling. At least Seth Rogen is here, I guess?

Oof.

Woof, you guys. What show or shows are we watching right now? First off, Jen's bangs. Secondly, what show is Pacey on because it's not Dawson's Creek? Third, Why does Joey want to help Eddie now that he ditched her and why are we doing a worse telling of the Pacey/Joey break up but with Joey and Eddie. And finally, why the fuck is Emma not all over Audrey? Who are these people and what did they do with the characters we love?

Well, we certainly got to talking about this episode. Come for us complaining about how joyless everything has been and stay for us talking J.K. and her terrible legacy of TERF-y ness.

It's Christmas time in good old Capeside and we're very confused as to whether we have missed an entire episode where literally anyone talked about their feelings or if we're just beyond caring about that kind of pesky thing.

This is a TRIP. What is anyone doing?

First things first, I have to apologize for some of the audio. I (Julia) was at a 100 year old haunted hotel and the wi-fi was fitting of that description so I did the best I could.

But we're talking about this episode that does not much. We like Joey and Eddie, they're cute. We hate Rich still, Dawson is somehow someone we're supposed to be rooting for? No idea. And fucking Emma and Pacey, ugh? Give Kerr Smith better to work with.

Unfortunately the song Spiderwebs is not played in this episode where everyone is messy and wild and No Doubt is playing a concert in Wooster. Natasha and Dawson are making out everywhere and getting arrested. Joey and Eddie are hiding from Dawson and successfully sneaking into the venue. Pacey is punching people...or CJ, not people. Jen and Audrey are not thrilled with each other, and somehow the gays end up taking blonde ladies home.

Everyone is acting a mess this week. Audrey is breaking shit at the bar, Joey is not standing up for anyone. Jen is not getting the hint that CJ isn't into her, Jack is not getting rid of that professor fast enough, and Pacey is dealing with Rich in New Orleans.

Everything is blowing up spectacularly and Dawson isn't even here for us to blame it all on. *wink*
