We look at the universe and wonder how was this done?! Was there a plan? How might we see it or even understand it? We explore space and examine the creation and death of stars. In Psalms we read God spoke and worlds were created. His words created and break kingdoms. His power and His love are seen in His words.

As you listen today, think about being ‘with God’. What does that mean to you? We often think about God being ‘with us’ but what does it look like to be with Him?! One can argue it is the same – and yes, it is. However, our perspective shifts with the phrasing – with us vs. with Him. Might we challenge ourselves to go with Him, do what He does and say what He tells us to say? Might we sit quietly as we listen and let Him be the leader for the day? Where will we go? What will we do? Let’s ask Him.

There are few in our lives that we will trust with our hearts. There are few people in our lives whose word we trust as well. It is important that we realize God can be trusted – with our desires, our concerns, our hopes and our fears. He keeps His word to us – that we are loved far greater than we can imagine, that He will protect us and has good plans for us. He will guide us and surround us with His peace – which is beyond our understanding.

It is no secret that hope is that one aspect of life that keeps us going. The proverb nails it: When hope’s dream seems to drag on and on, the delay can be depressing. How true it is! Yet… as the Psalmist says, “my only hope is to hope in you alone!” And that, friends, is where we must land – hoping in God, the one who cares for us more than anyone else! Put your trust in God. He knows what is going on and he will not fail you.

Peace is from God. We try to generate it, duplicate it and think that by saying it, it happens. It is a spoken word originating from God and given to us. Words are life-giving, or life-taking. Accepting peace is an act of our will, and a posture of our heart through which life is reproduced in the fullness of God-likeness as we carry about the life of Jesus in us. Listen carefully and let the peace of God rule in your heart and mind today.

Joy is a state of being. It is deeper than happiness, and more satisfying than laughter. It is the sigh of contentment and comfort, of realizing all the experiences of our lives add up to a purpose that God will weave into our story. Joy is the result of believing we have value, and what happens to us matters. Let these words remind you there is purpose and a plan for you – and God will be with you in this journey.

There are many definitions of love in the Scriptures. All are facets of the same precious essence of God Himself. Whether we define it as selflessness, compassion or the joyful honesty between friends, it is the cord that binds us to each other and to God - all at the same time.

As you listen today, be comforted if you are tired and remember God. Sometimes the stress of our lives prevents us from seeing God’s goodness is never less nor absent from us. It is our experience in the moment that has created a barrier, that seems unsurmountable because it is what we feel, what we hear and what we see. God says, Put your hope in Me – not in how you feel right now. Remember Me. I am your Savior.

One of the definitions for 'glory' is: magnificence or great beauty. Such is the description of God, and yet it falls short. We don't have words to describe the majesty, the immense beauty of God Almighty. Perhaps the Passion Translation of the Bible offers us a fresh glimpse of how we might view our Beloved Father" ..."may the glory of your name be the center on which our lives turn." Indeed.
