Grace is favor. It is a blessing the moment it is bestowed on another person. God sees our hearts and knows our intent. To withhold judgement is to build a fence of protection around someone struggling to be accepted. Grace and mercy kiss and the Lord’s favor flows over the wounds those needing a kind word. Be a moment of grace for someone today.

Such amazing truths about death! Without God's love and gift of dying for us, we would never see life as He intended for us to see nor experience the life He died to give to us. The author of Hebrews says it clearly, "By embracing death Jesus sets free those who live their entire lives in bondage to the tormenting dread of death."

What is important to you today? What do you value? Does it consume your attention, is it the center of your life? Today’s meditation reminds us what a life with Christ is and should be. We are instructed to use our faith so Christ’s life can be released within us, so that His love rests in us and on us, becoming our center and source for living.

The truth of being free in Christ is explained in today’s meditation. It is sometimes hard for us to comprehend the reality of this as we tend to interpret freedom with movement and choices. The Scriptures speak of us being rescued from ‘the tyrannical rule of darkness’, and this rescue releases us from the chains of sin. Might we consider that this too, has freed us to move – to stretch high and wide into new places of spiritual growth in Christ.

We are challenged throughout the Scriptures to be generous. We are encouraged to live from a heart that is not afraid of loss but is willing to love with an extravagance that cannot be quenched. Only in that way, will we experience the extravagant love that God has already given to us. Let us not be timid but bold in giving to others.

Every word God speaks is truth, life and holy. To speak truth is to speak life into another. To contemplate the truth is to integrate life into our being, letting it become us, that all that we speak is what the Holy Spirit has given us to speak – life and healing into the world that the world through Jesus’ life might know our Father’s love for each person.

God knows we wonder who He is, who we are, and how this all fits together. The scriptures reference ‘the created order’ of living things, the questions are asked about ranks and priorities to rulings and purpose. Engage God with your questions. He’s waiting for you.

Jesus, the blameless One, could have judged fairly, instead He chose not to judge, but to love each person He met. When we understand the full impact of who Love is and what Love does, only then will we trust God with the outcome. Judging means we’re afraid “they will get away with it”. Jesus says, “leave it to Me, let Love make the ruling.”
