Each of us has been given divine gifts to contribute to the growth of others. As we allow the Holy Spirit to use these gifts through us, they are effectively applied and we are all built up and made perfect in His love. For Love to flourish, we must trust God with ourselves.

As you listen to today's meditation, do so with the knowledge that you are an overcomer, one who can call on God for strength, Whose peace is ours for the asking and this peace guards our minds and refreshes our spirits. Let these words remind you that the kingdom of God is within you.

In the beginning, God set many things into effect. In His creating, He did not just make provision for one day, but put various laws into motion to carry on the "creating" from day to day.If we want a good return in/for our lives, the first thing to do is to sow good seeds. And what are those good seeds? In Luke's gospel, chapter 8, Jesus tells the parable of the sower. "This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God (verse 11)." Good seed is the word spoken by God and, consequently anything spoken by us that aligns itself with that word. What does your garden look like? It is filled with the products of your words. Your words produce your surroundings. Whatever we give out, is what we live in.

Paul calls us saints. We are encouraged to clothe ourselves with compassion and kindness, to pray without stopping, to be faithful in prayer, to wait for the Lord. Our definition of saints is of one who is perfect, who endures hardship well, who is patient and who is courageous in the face of desperate trials. We look at the outward man, but God sees the inward person. We are now 'in Christ' who was indeed a saint, one who stood in front of us, took our trials and bore our sorrows. In this amazing position, God sees us as the same, as saints who endure. May we stand tall in this honor, of being called God's children.

How easily we identify ourselves by the roles we fill - mother, father, teacher, doctor, athlete, and so on. We easily speak of what we do. How easily can we speak of who we are? Have we looked in the mirror, and held our reflection long enough to see, really see who is there? Take a few extra seconds to look at yourself in the mirror, and ask God to show you who He sees. Then complete the sentences and pray this prayer.

No longer are we enslaved to rebellion or rejected for our mistakes and sins. Our debt has been paid and we are free. God has declared justice has been served on our behalf. To live now, is to believe and accept we can go on and step into life and light. We are free to become all we were intended to be. In God's eyes we are now just and righteous people. How grateful we should be. How amazing it is to be handed keys to the kingdom, because God simply loves us so much!

As you listen to this meditation, prayerfully consider and ask God: What do You want me to know about darkness and light in my life, in the life of the communities/groups I engage with, and in the world? Is there anything that I need to let go of and release to You? What do You want to give me to replace what I have released? How can I join You in accomplishing Your purposes in my life and in the world? Is there anything else You want me to know or receive from You today? Is there anyone I can connect with for prayer or help?

We never grow tired of belonging, of being someone's child. The greatest honor is to be God's child, one who 'looks like' his or her father, one who knows they can go home and enjoy the truth of belonging. Only when we know our Father is near by can we relax and enjoy our place of rest. Let this time of listening, remind you that you are home, no matter where you are.

Our position as God's children is established in Jesus by trusting what He has said is true. the power of love frees us from darkness and opens our eyes to the reality of belonging to God, of being His children and of entering His kingdom now. It is the same power by which He raised Jesus from the dead. That power has raised us up also. What is God saying in this meditation about who He is to you, what He has done for you, and who you are to Him.
