Sometimes we forget the connection between believing God exists and experiencing His love. The door, the wall that seems to block our view and our experience is believing or faith in His existence. This gives us access or entrance into His realm of love. It is because of His love for us, toward us that we want to do whatever He asks us to do. That's what Love does. That is what He did for us. Our souls cried to be saved from death - and He did it.

We are asked to trust Jesus' words that sustaining Life is Him. In Him. By Him. Because of Him. Do we trust Him? On the tree of death He gave His physical life. As the source of all life, the Tree of Life, we are invited to eat and be filled. Let us delight ourselves in Him, in His presence with us, in the eternal life we have even now.

How amazing that God, who reigns in Heaven, a high and holy place, also resides with us, and in turn we with Him. In Christ, we have the privilege of containing the Spirit of God. Father, we are humbled by Your presence with and in us. Would You make us instruments of peace in this world?

Jesus knew who He was, which gave Him the confidence to live humbly as one who could serve others and not feel slighted, or overlooked. He modeled humility because He believed in His identity and knew God loved Him. God reminds us to "be content with who you are', for in this we will be aligned with God's intent for why we're here.

In the midst of anything, the gospel can either change us or change the situation. The key is to continue to focus on the gospel, the good news in every situation. God assures us He works everything for our good and according to his purpose. And what is His purpose? To bring us into the likeness of His Son. Jesus has been victorious over all things! So, if God is for us, who can be against us? God’s love never ceases, never fails. In the tapestry of our lives, there is one strand that is interwoven into every fiber; it is the love of God. And so, we know and rely on this incredible love from God for us.

It is an amazing truth, in many ways greater than we can comprehend - that God chose us, that He knew us before He created the world. We chose to believe this, and in turn have been given an inheritance of life in God's kingdom. What an honor to be chosen by the King of the universe, to be seen and to be adopted into His family. Might we honor Him in all that we think and believe. In turn, we will then honor Him in all we say and do.

James tells us, . . . faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead (James 2:17). And he goes on to explain that we can say we have faith all day long but the proof is in the pudding, so to speak. If we do have real faith, it will play out in our actions. We can believe a chair will hold us up and then the resulting action of that faith will be that we actually sit in the chair. We may say that we believe in God but what do our actions show? Do we live out that faith, that belief in God, by actually living our lives yielded to Him?

It has always been God's desire to dwell with us and this desire is fulfilled through our belief that Jesus is our Savior. He has bridged the gulf between heaven and earth, coming to us through His Holy Spirit placed in us and through His resurrection, in which we have already risen with Him, from the perspective of eternity. We are encouraged to trust that Jesus is indeed coming back for us while we trust Him as well to lead and guide us where we are now. It is in His house we want to live, and with Him, always. He is with us and we are with Him, even though we don’t yet see it fully.

How often do we stop to think about who we are? God wants us to know that He made us, purposed us to live here and now. The Psalmist says it well, "You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something." May we embrace our Father who loves us in the everlasting realm of always. We have been and will be His dearly beloved children.

We are God's children. As we finish our time considering our home with Him and what that looks like, He reminds us of the safety we have in His presence. We are not to fear the darkness, the beasts or disease. We are to cling to Him, to call to Him, to trust Him. He is our protector, our father, our keeper. In Him our identity is confirmed.
