For many of us, we know 'home' is a place of safety and shelter. God wants us to remember we have a 'home' in Him, where we are hidden from the chaos and trouble, where there is ease and comfort and we can be ourselves. Our Father's place is our place, even now.

It is 'in' Jesus that we are empowered by His Spirit, and find out who we are and why we are here. To remain in Him, to be known by Him, to find purpose, and life - that is our destiny. Consider what being 'in Jesus' really means as you listen today.

It's pretty simple, really. God says, your work is to do good. God has asked us to join Him in loving others, being gentle and kind, forgiving as we have been forgiven, sharing what we have and blessing with the gentle rains of peace. For this, we will be called His people. What an honor.

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you. Listen intently. Seek and find the wisdom that comes from the Father of Lights, who casts no shadow but is the source of our resurrection life. Let's run to Him. His arms are open.

In Part 2, of this meditation on God's kingdom, we are reminded that His kingdom is not visible or subject to this world's dynamics of power. For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. So, where are we experiencing and living in God’s kingdom? How can we experience and live in God’s Kingdom more? Perhaps, our perception of where we are needs to change. Father, grant us sight to see we are already there, already righteous, already given peace and joy. We only need to let You open our eyes to the Truth.

As we consider the familiar phrases of prayer for God's kingdom to come, let's consider as well, what it means to serve a King. What should our posture toward Him be, and are we truly aligned with His purposes for His kingdom?

Today is the second part of Living in God's Plans for Us. Each sentence of this meditation is advice for staying the course, for realizing we can trust Him to lead us, to reveal His plans for us, and to live in what He has purposed - proving His will is indeed good, acceptable and perfect for each of us.

This meditation has two parts. The first one, today, postions us. We are to listen as sheep listen and obey their shepherd. We are to trust, that we will be fed, and protected. We are to believe that goodness and mercy are with us every day of our lives. This establishes our thoughts and keeps us from wandering away from God's best for us.

In Deuteronomy 6:4, 5 we read: Hear, O Israel: The LORD your God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. The Oneness found here is more that just one being; it has to do with a unity of thought, of purpose, of desire, an agreement, if you will, a total agreement of thought and action. The Lord invites us to come into agreement with Him, to speak the same thing He speaks, for His desires to become our desires. Jesus invites us into a union with Him. "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."

When we love, we act and react differently than when we do not love. Just look at the love of God. Love prompted Jesus to go all the way to the cross. Living in God and living in His love is always taking the high road. Loving takes work. There is a labor of love. But when we do, LOVE NEVER FAILS. That doesn't mean that things always turn out the way we would like for them to, but if we stay in love, we win. To fully participate in love we must receive it first from God and then give it out from what He has given us.
