In so many places in Scripture we are told we are not alone, that God is with us. The Psalmist exclaimed, no matter where I go, You, God, will be there. Take comfort and believe. God is here with you, wherever you are.

The scriptures say it so well, “For the sense and reason of the flesh is death, but the mind-set controlled by the Spirit finds life and peace.” If we focus our thoughts, asking God’s Spirit to fill our minds, guide our thoughts, we will live in peace, no matter our circumstances.

So what comes to mind when you try to think about 'what is authentic and true'? Someone's word, their promise? We constantly assess the truth of another's statement. Do we transfer those questions of whether the words are true to God as well? Perhaps we need to look closely at His promises and trust He indeed does speak truth in love. Always.

In his letter to the Philippians, Paul wrote, Keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real. Controlling our thoughts is key to our perception of God's kingdom. We don't control its existence, only our experience of it. Focusing on what is true, what is real, what is authentic positions us to see, really see God at work in a world that sees only the physical realm. There is more to living, more to life and we're invited to join God in living to the fullness of our purpose.

What we think about we become. Where we put our attention, what we dwell on in our thoughts guides our actions and decisions. May we remember the power of words, the strength of consistent intentions and the importance of right choices.
