  • 1 Feb 2023: Being Joyful

Joy is an attitude, not an emotion. It comes from our heart and results from our trusting in God. Even in the most sorrowful experiences, God's joy is our strength as we choose it. Take in these words of encouragement and ask the Holy Spirit to show you God's joy for you and His gift of joy that is already growing in you.

  • 31 Jan 2023: Only One Truth

This meditation takes us from Job's lament (and ours) of wondering if our lives really matter to reminding us that there is a deeper purpose to our lives. This meditation shows us God's view of us -  that so much more is accomplished than we reaalize when we give no matter how we feel, when we trust God even though we don't see why we should. His Kingdom operates when we choose to trade our lack for His presence.

  • 30 Jan 2023: Loving Others

Of all the expressions of emotions we have, love seems to be the easiest and the hardest to share. The well-known chapter, 1 Corinthians 13 is used to describe the way to live yet we find it unattainable, because we try to do it rather than letting Jesus do it through us. The branch doesn't produce fruit- the the branch bears the fruit produced by the Vine.

  • 27 Jan 2023: Self Control

Once again, the realm of God's kingdom turns our world upside down. Real freedom is being free from self-indulgence. When we control our desires, and seek another's well-being, we are loving deeply and restoring life and freedom in this world. We are equipped by love to move beyond, to see beyond ourselves into another's need and love them in it.

  • 26 Jan 2023: The Practice of Leading Well

Today’s meditation touches on guidance for leading well. In God’s kingdom, those who are willing to serve, who honor others, who are not intimidated by being kind and honest are great. Solomon said, Good leadership is built on love and truth. Transparency in intentions, compassion for others are the hallmarks of those who are willing to do what is right. Every time. Let these words of truth permeate your mind and heart and lead well in the role you have been placed.

  • 25 Jan 2023: Gentleness

It is an interesting concept - to clothe ourselves with gentleness. Might that be one of the qualities people see first when they meet us? Might that be what we wear in our homes and in the marketplace? What would change in our world if we walked through our day with the heart of gentleness toward every creature, every person? Father, would you place this quality of character across our shoulders, that we might carry your compassion everywhere we go?

  • 24 Jan 2023: The Practice of Collaborating Creatively

Collaboration is often defined as two or more parties successfully working together on professional or artistic projects. It is more than cooperation. It is the developing of each other’s ideas. Might we have ideas that are bigger than us? That somehow are incomplete yet crucial to the success of the concept? Are we willing to let go of our ideas and explore the power of collaboration through which God’s Spirit can and does ignite passions and ideas never before thought of? Might our dreams be the catalyst for something bigger that can only be accomplished with others? What will God breathe into your spirit today as you listen for His dream for you? Is it to share your dream with another? Is it to trust God to protect what He’s given you as you venture to share your passion with another?

  • 23 Jan 2023: Faithfulness

As a father in a family is a living example of how to respond to life's challenges, so our Father God, demonstrates a life of faithfulness by keeping His promises to us. In turn, we are to mimic, to learn how to be faithful to Him and to those in our life. It is a bond, God's promise of standing with us that expresses the depth of love and honor that we in turn can do the same to those around us.

  • 20 Jan 2023: The Practice of Being Thankful

In this meditation we are reminded of four things. The first three are that we are to pray with an alert mind, to be cheerful no matter what and that whatever we do or say, to do it as one who represents Jesus. The fourth thing we are to do is to be thankful to the God of the universe. Choosing to be alert, cheerful and honoring of our position as Jesus’ ambassadors, positions our minds and hearts to recognize and realize our breath is from the God of heaven and earth. Let your heart rest in these truths as you listen today.

  • 19 Jan 2023: Goodness

As with all aspects that define our Lord and God, goodness is a quality of His character. Paul write to the Ephesians, for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth. Our life in Jesus develops such fruit. The goodness of God, is something He share with us- that we might share this sweet tasting fruit with others.
