We continue our Love & Liturgy series this week looking at the question of what discipleship and formation actually are? In the gospel of John, Jesus asks, "What do you want?" or What do you desire. This points to a fundamental truth that we must come to understand if we are to embrace the journey of discipleship and formation... You Are What You Love.

We kick off our new series "Love & Liturgy" answering the question of why discipleship and formation are so important for us as a church. Jesus' first call to His church is to "come to Him", so that we can be "made into fishers of men". If we skip this step of discipleship and formation, we run the risk of pursuing the mission of Jesus through our default framework that we have inherited from secular culture.

This week Ps Peter McHugh from Stairway Church speaks to us about Friendship with God. Looking at Genesis 1 and 3 we ask ourselves: Are we living from a paradigm of 'Sin Consciousness' where relationships, with God and People, are built on performance, judgement, and condemnation? Or are we living from a paradigm of 'God Consciousness', where relationships are built on Grace, Surrender and Gratitude?
