If only he were more creative, Pastor Jon would have titled this message “Cloudy with a Chance of Manna.” God communicates His Will to us in many ways, and there are several important lessons about God’s Will for us that we can learn from Numbers 9.

Pastor Jon Young - While it is true that every child of God is called to ministry, it is also true that God calls some to serve in ministry as a vocation - like the Levites in Numbers chapter 8 - and He has made it so that we are indispensable to one another.

Continuing in the same context as last week's message from Numbers chapter 6, the LORD then commanded the Levites to invoke His name in blessing upon His children. The Benedictions here and elsewhere in Scripture demonstrate that God desires to bless His children!

A genuine, deeper Christian life is not the reality for many Christians. Our passage today from Numbers 6 refers to the kind of person who is seeking a deeper relationship with God.

Matthew 18:21-35

Jesus challenges his disciples to have an infinite level of forgiveness for brothers. The motivation for such radical forgiveness

comes from the fact that God has forgiven believers of a greater debt through the Gospel. The parable concludes with a challenge that if we are not willing to forgive our brothers then God will not forgive us--in other words by a lack of forgiveness, we have not properly

understood the grace of the Gospel necessary to reconcile us to our holy Creator.

In a follow-up message to last week’s look at the Day of Atonement, Pastor Jon looks at how the details of the sacrifices on this special day point to important aspects of our salvation in Jesus Christ.
