Today on the DWITW podcast, we are taking a look at the literary style of law and the Scripture that falls under this category. Jillian and Heidi discuss what the law is, the context it was written in, how it looked in Jesus’ life, and how it still holds truth and meaning for us today.

Melanie Newhouse joins us on the podcast today to explore what biblical narrative is, and how the history of an ancient people remains important for our current faith journeys. We take a look at what the overarching metanarrative of the Bible is and how Scripture is different from any other piece of narrative literature. We also take an introspective stance as we discuss how the biblical narrative genre informs the process of our transformation and points to our ultimate need for Christ as our Redeemer and Savior.

Today Jen Ward joins us to talk through an overview of the New Testament (NT.) She shares about the importance of looking at Scripture in context, the value of in-depth study, and how through an understanding of the big story of the Bible, we can see more clearly the many facets of who God is.

Today we are joined by Kate Haas to talk through an overview of the Old Testament (OT,) why we need a basic understanding of it, and how it fosters a deep appreciation for the greater story of the Bible and the God who orchestrated it.

On the final episode of season 5, Timelapse, our friend and sister Beverly Hicks joins us today to share from all her experience walking with the Lord. Bev shares about the influence of church on her life and living out her faith in every day life. She also tells of feeling and seeing the warmth and presence of God in daily life, even in taking out the trash! One thing she would encourage others with in all her experience is to be faithful to Christ.
