On the latest Daytime Confidential podcast Luke Kerr, Mike Jubinville and Joshua Baldwin are picking their jaws up off the floor at co-host Jillian Bowe's scoop about The Young and the Restless snatching up Michelle Stafford to reprise the role of Phyllis Newman and replace Gina Tognoni who currently portrays the character.

What does this mean for Genoa City and Port Charles? The Young and the Restless and General Hospital have been playing tug of war over actors for years, but how will Frank Valentini retaliate? Or should he? No one among the DC gang wants to see Tognoni take over the role of Nina Cassadine that Stafford is leaving behind. Luke and Joshua pitch their ideas for which Days of Our Lives role Tognoni would rock in.

The DC gang then dives into The Young and the Restless recasting Adam Newman with Mark Grossman, recasting the role of Nate Hastings Jr. with Sean Dominic and letting Jason Canela go as Arturo Rosales.

The Young and the Restless wasn't the only soap to deliver casting news. General Hospital revealed that Hillary B. Smith will be reprising her One Life to Live character Nora Buchanan. It also the role no one knew needed recasting by hiring Paulina Bugembe to play Valerie Spencer.
