Where’s Batman and Flash?

Director Zack Snyder - “One of the more rewarding aspects of creating Justice League was having fun exploring the dynamic between this diverse group of characters, inherently larger-than-life characters with disparate backgrounds, ethics and unique perspectives all trying to come together and work as a team. It not only offers an opportunity for great drama and complex relationships, but it also often results in great fun. "It’s an exciting concept to explore and it only gets better when you add the component of our incredibly talented cast – their chemistry really adds to that dynamic.”

Ben Affleck has decided not to direct The Batman movie, but is still attached as a writer, producer, and star. On today's podcast, we give our reaction to this news, as well as the best and worst case scenarios for the future of Batman in the DCEU.

Ben Affleck will not direct The Batman - Variety

Affleck's official statement  - “There are certain characters who hold a special place in the hearts of millions. Performing this role demands focus, passion and the very best performance I can give. It has become clear that I cannot do both jobs to the level they require. Together with the studio, I have decided to find a partner in a director who will collaborate with me on this massive film. I am still in this, and we are making it, but we are currently looking for a director. I remain extremely committed to this project, and look forward to bringing this to life for fans around the world.”

WB's official statement - “Warner Bros. fully supports Ben Affleck’s decision and remains committed to working with him to bring a standalone Batman picture to life”

Mark Hughes Director Names - Matt Reeves, Gavin O’Connor, Denis Villeneuve, Matt Ross, and George Miller (he would add Kathryn Bigelow and Peter Berg)

A 2018 release date seems “out of the question”
