  • Justice League Dark animated movie review!
On today's podcast, we review the Justice League Dark animated movie. Justice League Dark is the latest DC Universe animated original movie, focusing on the magical DC Comics characters.

We begin with our non-spoiler thoughts on the movie followed by a spoiler-filled review.

The official synopsis for the movie:

When innocent civilians begin committing unthinkable crimes across Metropolis, Gotham City and beyond, Batman must call upon mystical counterparts to eradicate this demonic threat to the planet. Enter Justice League Dark, reluctantly led by the Hellblazer himself, John Constantine. Like Batman, Constantine is a cunning, often cynical loner who is the best at his chosen profession – but quickly realizes the sinister forces plaguing the planet will require help from other supernatural alliances. Forming a new “league” with sorceress Zatanna, otherworldly Deadman, and Jason Blood and his powerful alter ego Etrigan the Demon, this team of Dark Arts specialists must unravel the mystery of Earth’s supernatural plague and contend with the rising, powerful villainous forces behind the siege – before it’s too late for all of mankind.

How did the film handle the different magical powers?
    Was this film too dark?
Did it need to be R?
How was Batman and the rest of the Justice League handled?

  • Supergirl S02E09 “Supergirl Lives” review and recap
*Spoilers* for Supergirl Season 2, Episode 9 “Supergirl Lives” in this review and recap.

    Non-Spoiler Thoughts:

    Official Synopsis:

Kara (Melissa Benoist) is moved by the story of a missing woman named Izzy (guest star Harley Quinn Smith) and decides to investigate despite Snapper Carr’s (guest star Ian Gomez) order to leave it alone. Kara takes Mon-El (Chris Wood) with her to the last place Izzy was seen and the duo find themselves thrust through a portal to another planet, Slaver’s Moon, where the downtrodden are sold as slaves. The leader of the trafficking ring is none other than Roulette (guest star Dichen Lachman). To make matters worse, Slaver’s Moon has a red sun, which means Kara and Mon-El are stripped of their powers and stuck on the planet with no way home. Meanwhile, back on Earth, Alex (Chyler Leigh) blames herself for Kara’s disappearance, fearing she’s become too focused on her new relationship with Maggie (guest star Floriana Lima) and too complacent in watching out for her sister.

    Things that stood out:

Winn is very relatable, I would be scared to be in that position
Mon-El is the Prince, he wasn’t protecting the Prince
Glad that Mon-El wants to become hero
James Urbaniak (Maaldorian Doctor) is Rolf from The Office, was funny to see him
How much more of the Dominators are we going to see?
