The District of Columbia has filed a federal lawsuit against President Donald Trump, challenging his deployment of the National Guard as an illegal use of the military for domestic law enforcement. Attorney General Brian Schwalb warned that “no American jurisdiction should be involuntarily subjected to military occupation.” The lawsuit comes after a California court also ruled against Trump’s use of troops in Los Angeles.
