After making their way to Rubel, some of the party members decide to visit an old gypsy tent and get a bit more than they bargained for. Rovu stays behind and learns that it would be a good idea to leave in the morning, but drinks a bit too much to remember anything. Meanwhile, a strange but familiar character roams the town at night.

Part of the group wakes up in a mass grave that the Black Hand has filled with bodies of spellcasters. Realizing that their gear is gone, they sneak back into the compound, retrieve their gear, slay the remaining Black Hand members, and get back on the road to Slavers Bay. On their journey, Naurman makes a proposition to the group that could change their lives.

After a great deal of time has passed hiding in the cellar of Tamaren's home, Astraea makes her way after the party. The rest of our adventurers fight off the grotesque Black Beak in the top of the tower. After a weird skill challenge, the entire team (with the exception of Naurman) fall unconscious. Some, never to awake again.
