OUR TRIUMPHANT RETURN! That’s right, Children of the Night! It’s the first episode we’ve recorded since we recovered from The Plague, and we… might have gone a little feral with this one.

WE’RE BACK! Sorry about the unexpected break, listeners! As Andrew will tell you in this episode’s into, our household came down with a case of The Plague near the end of December, preventing us from getting this episode edited and uploaded until now! We’re all fully recovered now, and will be working on our backlog in order to get caught up as soon as possible!

Welcome, Children of the Night, to another episode of Vampire Bites!

This time, we take a look at the 2000 film Shadow of the Vampire, a

metacommentary on the filming of Nosferatu that imagines Max Schreck as an

actual vampire. Did we enjoy the film? Did we think it was trying too hard

to be deep? Does it somehow manage to treat its women worse than any film

we’ve watched so far? Listen and find out!

Rats rats rats rats rats rats rats… We made it to Episode 2, Children of the Night! Dead and Watching it is officially a SERIES now! For this one, we’re going back to the earliest Dracula adaptation that we have access to (even if Bram Stoker’s wife really wishes we didn’t): NOSFERATU! This is also the first silent film to be discussed on the podcast-- don’t worry, we talk enough to make up for it!

For our first Vampire Bite, we’re talking about The Monster Squad! It’s not a Dracula adaptation, but it does feature Ol’ Drac as the main antagonist, and we’re able to find some more parallels throughout. We always have fun watching this movie, and we hope you have fun listening!
