Dead Dialect Podcast

We drank some beer. We mic'd ourselves up. Here goes nothing.

We did it. As the last episode under HHP, Emily Kokal and Stella Mozgawa of Warpaint make our podcast guest dreams come true and send us off in a blaze of glory. We sat with them pre-minblowing-show at the South Side Music Hall in Dallas to talk about their origins, creative processes, and some of their perspectives on the music industry and aspiring musicians. This is the final episode under the name Houston Holocron, but don't worry, we'll still be here and going harder than ever.

Adrián Terrazas-González of The Mars Volta, T.R.A.M., and The Earful joins us on the podcast today along with David Perez of Zoofeelia.

Comedian and musician, Gabe Bravo, joins the podcast tonight. Gabe is standup comic out of Houston who has also played in several bands including Shotgun Funeral, The Trimms, and The Satin Hooks.

This episode belongs at the heart of the Houston Holocron Podcast; this time we have the one and only Bassman Pep, who's been at the middle of the Houston music scene for four years, putting some of the best shows from some of the best shows this town has to offer.

It's the return! Houston Holocron bounces back after a layoff, and we brought along Eleazar "Peewee" Ruiz and Jacob Rodriguez of Houston's own HandsomeBeast and Dadsmom. In addition to being some of our oldest friends, they are two of Houston's most talented musicians and producers, running their own DYI label, King Benny Productions. Listen in to hear their background and stories of their climb to being at the top of the local music scene, as well as hear two tracks from their current projects.

We're back, and this time with Tracey Guerrero, who is the Vice President of the Houston branch of NORML, or National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws.

This episode features local artist Bobby Ramos who was also a former world champion deadlifter. Listen in to hear his thoughts and opinions on a variety of topics from arts to sports. Check out his art on Instagram @bobbyramos75.

We're back again, folks, and this time with our good friend Paul Lopez, better known as Crazy P. He is a rapper, producer, and beatmaker who's about to debut his 8 track mixtape "That's My Shit: Vol. 1" Get the word on one of Houston's most talented underground rappers and listen to two of his tracks, not available anywhere else but here.

In this episode, we get a chance to briefly talk to Tecia Torres, a fighter who competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. She is ranked the #5 Strawweight worldwide and is to participate as a contestant on the 20th season of the Ultimate Fighter premiering Fall 2014. Hear her give her thoughts on being a huge part of the new season's lineup, what the experience will have in store, and the possibilty that she may well be the UFC's next champion by the end of the year. This is a two part podcast.
