Dean's Chat hosts, Drs. Jensen and Richey, welcome Dr. Duane Ehredt, Jr. to the podcast!
Dr. Ehredt is the Dean of the LECOM School of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his bachelor's degree in human biology from Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA.
While studying at Juniata, Dr. Ehredt earned All-American honors while playing NCAA Division III football. He then earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine with honors from the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in 2011.
Dr. Ehredt completed a Podiatric Medicine & Surgery Residency with the added credential in Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center/Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH.
Dr. Ehredt is Board Certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in both Foot and Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery as well as the American Board of Podiatric Medicine.
Dr. Ehredt's interests lie in Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery, Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy, Limb Salvage, and Research. Hospital affiliations include LECOM Medical Center and Corry Memorial Hospital.
In addition to his administrative/academic duties, Dr. Ehredt is a surgical faculty member for the LECOM Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency (PMSR/RRA) Program.
Additionally, Dr. Ehredt is a commissioned officer in the United States Navy Reserve. He currently holds the rank of Lieutenant Commander and serves with NMRTC Portsmouth as part of the Bancroft Hall Medical Department at the US Naval Academy. He is also a certified Tactical Combat Casualty Care instructor and is part of the US Navy Reserve's exportable training cadre.

Drs. Jensen and Richey welcome Dr. John Evans to Dean's chat! A true leader in the profession, Dr. Evans has worked in private practice in Michigan for over 30 yrs, recently shifted into medical consulting work in the areas of critical limb ischemia. He has served in many interdisciplinary organizations including American Heart Association, The Peripheral Vascular Disease Council as well as the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association helping write the guidelines for peripheral arterial disease. Join us as he discussed how impactful our work as podiatric surgeons is not only on the community but to our interdisciplinary colleagues as well.
His career began as a pharmacist when he was introduced to the podiatry profession and decided to make a career change. Dr. Evans earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and went on to complete his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine at Temple University. He completed his 2 year surgical residency at Highlands Center in Denver, and later even worked as an attending to Dr. Jensen! Tune in for some fun reminiscing!
Dr. Evans has served numerous leadership roles across all of the different professional organizations within the podiatric profession. He has served on a myriad of committees with the American Board of Foot and Ankle surgeons. (ABFAS) He has served on the Board of Directors, ABFAS Communications committee, Examination committees including oral, CBPS and case review committees. He has been a strong advocate for the American Podiatric Medical Association including his state society Michigan Podiatric Medical Association where he served in leadership roles such as the Executive Committee, Secretary- Board of Directors. He has been involved in legislative committee work including Insurance Committee Chair, Medicare Carrier Advisory Committee and Hospital privileging at a State and National level. He has served on several committees for the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons as well as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
He is faculty for the Symposium on Advanced Wound Care, New Cardiovascular Horizons, and Amputation Prevention Symposium. He does committee work for American Limb preservation society, The CLI Global Society, and trained residents in podiatric medicine and surgery for over 30 years. It is no question that he earned the "APMA Award of Excellence- For outstanding national accomplishments in scientific, professional and civic endeavors." And yet, he remains humble about his accomplishments and a true gentleman at his core. We hope you enjoy this interview with one of the Podiatry Legends!

Drs. Jensen and Richey welcome Dr. Andrew Belis to Dean's chat! A leader in the profession, Dr. Belis has worked in with an orthopedic practice in Florida and is has been the Fellowship Director for the Orhopedic Center of Florida's Foot and Ankle Surgery Fellowship since 2017 in Fort Myers, FL.
Dr. Belis has served in many roles with the Florida Podiaric Medical Association, including President. He is also the past Chairman of the Board for the American Society of Podiatric Surgeons (ASPM).
Dr. Belis earned his Bachelor of Science in Physiology at Boston University and went on to complete his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine at Temple University. He completed 3 years of residency training at Wycoff Heights Residency Program and Greater Baltimore Hospital.

Dean's Chat hosts, Drs. Jeffrey Jensen and Johanna Richey welcome Dr. David Armstrong to the podcast. This discussion wasn't about the "Diabetic Foot" as much as it was getting to know what makes the world leader in "Diabetic Foot" click. His background and fascination with technology, intro to podiatry (he considered law) to transforming clinical opportunities at Kern Hospital and UT- San Antonio.
Dr. Armstrong is Distinguished Professor of Surgery and Neurological Surgery with Tenure at the University of Southern California. Dr. Armstrong holds a Master of Science in Tissue Repair and Wound Healing from the University of Wales College of Medicine and a PhD from the University of Manchester College of Medicine, where he was appointed Visiting Professor of Medicine. He is founder and co-Director of the Southwestern Academic Limb Salvage Alliance (SALSA).
Dr. Armstrong has produced more than 720 peer-reviewed research papers in dozens of scholarly medical journals as well as over 120 books or book chapters. He is founding co- Editor of the American Diabetes Association's (ADA) Clinical Care of the Diabetic Foot, now in its fourth edition.
Armstrong is Director of USC's National Science Foundation (NSF) funded Center to Stream Healthcare in Place (C2SHiP) which places him at the nexus of the merger of consumer electronics, wearables, and medical devices in an effort to maximize hospital-free and activity-rich days.
Dr. Armstrong was selected as one of the first six International Wound Care Ambassadors and is the recipient of numerous awards and degrees by universities and international medical organizations including the inaugural Georgetown Distinguished Award for Diabetic Limb Salvage. In 2008, he was the 25th and youngest-ever member elected to the Podiatric Medicine Hall of Fame. He was the first surgeon to be appointed University Distinguished Outreach Professor at the University of Arizona. He was also the first podiatric surgeon to be selected as President of Faculty at Keck School of Medicine of USC. Furthermore, he was the first podiatric surgeon to become a member of the Society of Vascular Surgery, and the first US podiatric surgeon named fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Glasgow. He is the 2010 and youngest ever recipient of both the ADA's Roger Pecoraro Award and 2023 recipient of the ISDF's Karel Bakker Award, the highest awards given in the field.
Dr. Armstrong is past Chair of Scientific Sessions for the ADA's Foot Care Council, and a past member of the National Board of Directors of the American Diabetes Association. He sits on the Infectious Disease Society of America's (IDSA) Diabetic Foot Infection Advisory Committee and is the US appointed delegate to the International Working Group on the Diabetic Foot (IWGDF). Dr. Armstrong is the founder and co-chair of the International Diabetic Foot Conference (DF-Con), the largest annual international symposium on the diabetic foot in the world. He is also the Founding President of the American Limb Preservation Society (ALPS), a medical and surgical society dedicated to building interdisciplinary teams to eliminate preventable amputation in the USA and worldwide.

Welcome to Dean's Chat Dr. Rachel Albright! Drs. Jensen and Richey are thrilled to discuss "all things podiatric medicine and surgery" with Dr. Albright. Dr. Albright is currently practicing with Stamford Health Medical Group in Connecticut.
Dr. Albright holds a Master's degree in Public Health from The Dartmouth Institute, Geisel School of medicine and a Bachelors degree In Business Management with a minor in chemistry from the University of South Florida. She completed her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine Degree from Scholl College and went on to do a 3 year surgical residency at John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County and Advocate Illinois Masonic Medicine Center.
Join us as she discussed her passion for Research and public health including her experience in health economic models which she learned during a unique opportunity to study abroad at the University of Oxford in the field of Applied methods of cost-effectiveness analysis. We discuss the multiple organizations that she has served in leadership roles with application of her exceptional research acumen including APMA and ACFAS. She also serves as Deputy Editor with the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery and Associate editor for the Journal of Podiatric Medical Association as well as a reviewer for Foot and Ankle International, Gerontology and even reviews grants for international organizations.
With her passion for research, she is also an exceptional faculty member with numerous publications and invited lectures across a multitude of professional organizations.
