Dear guavabean, I have a question that seems to be going around a lot. Is it really that hard to get into this lifestyle? I have been looking for a remote job for the past month or so with no luck whatsoever. I am a 34-year-old father of three and married to a wonderful woman who has a remote job as a teacher. It seems she gets more work than me. I’m a Content Creator who mainly focusses on video editing and I wonder if I should acquire any other skills to be able to get a job in this industry. The idea is to be able to travel with my family and take my work with me, free of the confines of an office. Can you guys help me out, point me towards the right path? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Dear GUAVABEAN, I replied to an ad looking for writers for ski and snowboarding websites. She sounded like a nice person and asked me to do two test articles for 50$ each. I was okay with that. I picked the topics from her excel sheet, she approved them and I did the job. I wrote the test articles but then she disappeared for months. She has promised to send me feedback a couple of times, but hasn't done that. Today I snapped and just asked about the money. I wanted to ask if there's a way to avoid these situations and how to deal with people who promise to pay and then don't?
