  • The Trinity in Isaiah
This sermon examines the doctrine of the Trinity through specific passages in the book of Isaiah, identifying the distinct roles and relationships of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The analysis begins with Isaiah 42, where the Father is presented as the commissioner who delights in the Son, the Servant, who is empowered by the Holy Spirit to bring gentle justice to the Gentiles. The teaching continues with Isaiah 48, exploring the debate over whether the Father or the Son is the speaker, while emphasizing the unity of the divine persons in the sending of the Messiah. Finally, the sermon introduces Isaiah 61 alongside Luke 4, highlighting the anointing of Christ by the Spirit to preach good tidings and bind up the brokenhearted. Throughout the discussion, the preacher emphasizes that the three persons of the Trinity are united in purpose and authority, rather than operating in a hierarchy of subordination, providing a cohesive Old Testament foundation for understanding the triune nature of God.

  • 321. The Future of Biblical Counseling
Two of biblical counseling's most influential leaders died within a year of each other (Adams and Powlison), and the movement has been fracturing ever since. In this series finale, Dr. Jared Poulton joins Jared and Dr. Alan Strange to bring the story into the present: the growing rift between "clinically informed" and "historic" biblical counseling, the theological debates over common grace and secular psychology no reformed denomination has ever weighed in on, and why so many Reformed Christians have kept biblical counseling at arm's length despite wanting exactly what it offers. Dr. Poulton makes the case for where the movement goes from here, and issues a direct challenge to pastors and elders who've sat this conversation out. Whether you've followed all four episodes or you're just catching up, this closing conversation will change how you think about the counsel happening in your own church.

  • 3 John 1-2 • The Verse They Stop Reading
3 John 1:2 — TV preachers quote this verse and stop. John didn't stop there — and the rest of the sentence wrecks the health-and-wealth gospel. This message unpacks the prosperity gospel debate hiding inside 3 John 1:2 — the verse health-and-wealth preachers love to quote, and love to stop reading. This expository preaching through the Apostle John's wish for a man named Gaius exposes what happens when "prosper and be in health" gets cut loose from the phrase that follows it: "even as thy soul prospereth." If you've ever wondered why the prosperity gospel doesn't add up biblically — or watched someone you love send their last dollars to a preacher promising healing and wealth — this sermon shows you exactly where that theology breaks, one piece of punctuation at a time. Soul prosperity, not bank account prosperity, is the measuring stick John actually gives. Preached from 3 John 1:1-2, this message traces the Apostle John's final years as the last living eyewitness of Christ, his love for a little-known believer named Gaius, and the wish he made for him. Drawing on Genesis 22, 2 Corinthians 11-12, and the record of Paul's own suffering and contentment, this verse-by-verse teaching calls believers back to a definition of prosperity measured by the soul first — everything else rides behind it. This sermon walks through 3 John 1:1-2, explaining: - Why John signed this letter only "the elder" — and why no one had to ask which elder - Who Gaius was, and why an old apostle loved a man history barely remembers - The difference between a formal prayer and a wish that "gets away from you" - How prosperity preachers stop reading at the comma in verse 2

  • The Gifts of the Spirit, Part 3
In 1 Corinthians 12:8–11, Paul identifies a variety of spiritual gifts given by the Holy Spirit for the building up of Christ's church. Among the most debated of these gifts is prophecy. What exactly was the New Testament gift of prophecy? Was it preaching, a spontaneous impression from the Spirit, a fallible revelation, or the authoritative Word of God? In this sermon, Pastor Robb Brunansky examines the biblical meaning of prophecy by tracing the prophetic ministry from the Old Testament through the Gospels, Acts, and the New Testament epistles. Scripture consistently presents true prophecy as direct revelation from God—authoritative, completely true, and produced by the Holy Spirit rather than the imagination or will of man. This study also considers several prominent views of New Testament prophecy and asks whether the Bible supports the idea that prophecy could contain a mixture of divine revelation and human error. From Moses and the Old Testament prophets to Agabus and the prophets of the early church, the biblical evidence points to continuity: when God truly speaks through a prophet, His Word is trustworthy and true. Understanding the nature of prophecy is essential not only for interpreting the spiritual gifts of 1 Corinthians 12, but also for understanding the sufficiency, authority, and reliability of God's revelation to His people.

  • Preserving the Faith
If Satan can't get the messengers to stop preaching, if he can't destroy or intimidate them, then Satan seeks to cause division about the truth of the gospel. We will study the special council at Jerusalem in Acts 15.

  • The Denomination Debate (Part 1)
This lesson examines the divisions within the Corinthian church as described in 1 Corinthians, focusing on the specific contention where members aligned themselves with one leader to the exclusion of accepting truth from others. The central message warns against the carnality and pride that fuel such strife, emphasizing that true unity requires identifying with the Lord Jesus and His Word as the sole authority for faith and practice. While following godly men is not inherently wrong, the lesson argues that elevating them to the status of ultimate authority leads to denominational fragmentation and imbalanced dependency. Believers are urged to trust in the inerrant Scripture over human fallibility to avoid the pitfalls of cult-like behavior and to maintain a balanced, Christ-centered perspective.

  • Great Power
This sermon explores the exceeding greatness of God's power as revealed in Ephesians 1, emphasizing that this power is specifically exercised toward believers who have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit. The message highlights the theological truth that the same almighty power which raised Christ from the dead is at work in the lives of the elect, securing their salvation and sustaining them through trials. It contrasts the simplicity of preaching Christ with the futility of debating other religions, asserting that God's power is irresistible and not limited by human weakness or opposition. The tone is pastoral and encouraging, urging the congregation to find strength and assurance in the knowledge that God's promises are guaranteed by His unlimited ability to fulfill them. Ultimately, the sermon calls for a deep appreciation of the mercy and privilege of being kept by the one who holds all power in heaven and on earth.
