This is your basic tool kit for sharing interests with another person. So be sure to learn. I like plus ING.

Yep, I have found out I quite like gardening. Talking about interests with people is always a great thing to do. But then you need some vocabulary for the hobby or interest.

So for example, today we're going to learn the word spade. I was given a spade yesterday. Thank you very much, Matthew.

And with a spade, you can dig. And today I am here in the garden digging. I am digging flower beds, places for my raspberry bushes, and I am making my herb garden bigger.

Mika and Misha are as always trying to help me. Yes, I am not sure that sitting on the spade is helpful, but they're trying their best.

It's now much later in the day when I'm posting this, and the sun has already gone to bed, which is where I'm heading soon, after a long day. Hope you had a good one. Early start! Red sky at night… Transcription: “Good morning, everybody, DebOnAir here.

How are you doing this morning? It's a very early start for me. It's about five o'clock.

The sun is thinking about coming out. I see red sky over to my right. Red sky at night, shepherd’s delight.

Red sky in the morning, shepherd’s warning, is a saying in English. This basically means that red sun sets, good weather, red sun rises, bad. But let's see what the day brings, huh? Where I am, I got a fantastic weekend with the weather.

I don't know about you. Was it good? I got to go cycling on Saturday along the Danube.

And then on Sunday, I spent it in the garden. It was so nice. I then made the massive mistake of mowing my lawn.

And I have now found out you should not mow your lawn on a Sunday in Austria. Well, there you go, lesson learnt. Different countries, different rules, different laws.

Where I come from, in the city of York, for example, it is still legal to shoot a Scotsman with a bow and arrow. But like mowing the lawn, NOT on a Sunday. I don't, however, recommend trying it.

How to express a day off work. Bank Holidays. Transcription: “Hi there, guys. DebOnAir here. How you all doing today?

Yesterday was a holiday. And did you take today off work?

Today is a Friday between a Thursday holiday and a Saturday Sunday weekend. In Austria, you call that a window day. We don't really have this term in English, but we can ask questions like this.

Have you taken an extra day off? Or very, very rare, you could say, have you taken a bridge day? Are you making a long weekend out of the Thursday holiday?

These are all ways we can express what in Austria you call a window day. Interestingly, in England, we don't really have this day, which is why we don't really have a great expression for it. We often say, I took an extra day off work.

This is because when we have a holiday, an official public holiday, we call it a bank holiday, and we always put them on the Monday. So May Day last week on Wednesday was celebrated on Monday the 6th of May in Britain. I don't know, what do you think?

Is it better always to have three day weekends, or to have the chance to have a really long weekend with four days? But you have to take a day's holiday.

Whichever you are doing this weekend, long or not, I hope it's going to be a fantastic one. Enjoy yourselves everybody, and see you again on Monday.”

Planning a trip to go for a walk with some vocabulary many people get a little bit wrong! Go for a walk, go by bus, drive, sunbathing, we will meet (not with us!!!! ) Transcription: “Good morning, everybody. DebOnAir here. How are you today?

Today, the sun is shining, and we have Breakfast Club. But because the weather is so fantastic, it's Breakfast Club on the road. We are going to Mödling in Lower Austria, and we're going for a walk.

I've packed apples, pineapple and sunscreen because yes, I burn very easily. It's going to be walking, not sunbathing. That's a word people find difficult to say.

Lying in the sun is sunbathing. So I'm going on the bus. I go on the bus.

I don't drive on the bus. Gurana is coming by car. She is driving.

She's not driving with the car. We just say, she is driving. We will meet Veronica at the train station in Mirdling.

And then we can say, we will meet. No us at the end, just we will meet. We will meet at the train station.

So, I had better get some iced tea made for the picnic and get going. I hope your day is going to be wonderful too.

Yesterday, I was at the pub, so I went to the pub, and I drank a coke. I say drank, because the word drink goes drink, drank, drunk. It has three forms.

So in general, I drink coffee every day. But when I say yesterday, I drank coffee yesterday, because it's finished. So when it's finished, I use the second form, drank.

And when it's not finished, I use the third form, drunk, with have. Today, I have drunk one cup of coffee.

And believe me, that is not finished. I will drink many cups of coffee today.

But so far, I have drunk one cup of coffee. So this is your key to remember the three forms. Every day, finished, not finished.

And now I'm going to try and go and do all the things that are not finished. Yeah, before the shops close, cat food! Have a great holiday, guys.

Good vocabulary and an exciting piece of grammar. Let's have a quick look at one particular piece of vocabulary that was in that episode. And that is a friend of mine.

Not a friend of me, it's a friend of mine, a friend of yours, a friend of his, a friend of hers, a friend of ours and a friend of theirs. This is one of people's favourite mistakes. This is a big one to learn.

See if you can remember that one. OK, that's the vocabulary. There is also a really interesting point in there about how we talk about things that are finished and not finished.

But I'm going to leave that point until tomorrow's episode.

We've got past 12 o'clock, and I am just looking at my plans for the rest of the week.

So far today, I have written a few emails, and I have made a few telephone calls. And now I'm thinking about lunch. I love food.

It's not only Misha, my cat, that loves food. Do you like food? But today it needs to be a light lunch, because yesterday I went out in the evening and had spare ribs, yum!

A special treat for a special occasion. It was a friend of mine's birthday. Whenever it is one of our birthdays, we always go for ribs at a special place in lower Austria.

Alternative version of cleaning the oven for all those language learners who love a crazy challenge! Look out for some wild, wild, wild vocabulary! Transcription: “Welcome, everybody, DebOnAir here to The Battle Against the Oven. Today, we are going on an epic escapade to try and clean my filthy oven. At least, I think it's my oven under there.

I'm armed with sponges, sprays, and elbow grease, and I am prepared to wage war. With each scrub here, I am uncovering layers of stubborn grease, like an archaeologist sifting through the sands of time. My treasure?

The appearance of the oven floor. The grime is, however, fighting back. Screaming, this is Sparta, and refusing to die.

It's clinging to every crevice, and something tells me I'm going to need around two, and probably around three. Please not around four. I would like to say I will emerge triumphant, but I'm not so sure that's the case.
