Please join me in welcoming my friends, Dr. Mary Reid Gaudio and Gino Gaudio, filmmakers and founders of the Tony Gaudio Foundation, who joined us today to discuss the magnificent film they will soon debut about Oscar-winning cinematographer, Gaetano Gaudio, the first Italian-born filmmaker from Italy to win an Academy Award. And his story is fascinating. In 1906, Gaetano “Tony” Gaudio, a young man from Calabria, set out for the American Dream, arriving in the United States with a passion for cinematography, which was just developing in the motion picture industry. His family ran a successful photography studio in Cosenza, Italy, so making pictures was in his DNA. Tony eventually made his way from New York to Hollywood, where he quickly grew to be one of the most prized cinematographers in the industry, working with Hollywood’s elite such as Betty Davis, Errol Flynn, and dozens of others. He won an Academy Award for his work in 1937 for Anthony Adverse. His statuette is missing, just like his story was for decades, until Gino, Mary, and other descendants of the Gaudio family brought his story to life in this documentary, with the hope of also finding his prized Oscar. But not if it consumes us to the point where we can’t enjoy life. And that’s where “Life After Kids” comes in.

Drs. Lynne and Brooke help us step into that next level with purpose. It can be small or it can be big, but it’s a necessary step to finding fulfillment without our kids under one roof. Do I secretly wish my kids would all live here, or next door, or even in the next town? Yup. But they don’t, at least not now. So I’m figuring it out like everyone else.

Meredith is also the creator of She TV Media, which is dedicated to providing inspiring stories by, for, and with women. In fact, when Meredith was in school, she fancied herself to be the next Oprah, but she’s now finding her work behind the camera and telling the stories of others to be her true calling. At least for now.

Cathryn Michon is a filmmaker, actor, animal advocate, and she joins us to talk about her latest book, “I’m Still Here: A Dog’s Purpose Forever.”

So many of us are dog lovers. After all, they are our family. Did you ever wonder why dogs don’t live longer? Cathryn addresses that and so much more in her national bestseller. “I’m Still Here” is told from the point of view of an angel dog, or a dog who has passed, revealing to those who loved him that he’s in a safe place, and he’s watching over his human family. It’s a beautiful portrayal of the tenderness and bond that animals share with each of us. Cathryn has had an incredible career, and is the only woman screenwriter in America who had two feature films in world release in 2019, “A Dog’s Way Home,” and “A Dog’s Journey,” the sequel to “A Dog’s Purpose,” all told from a dog’s point of view.

Cathryn’s writing credits include “South Park,” “Designing Women,” and others. She’s performed at Chicago’s Second City and appeared both on TV and off-broadway. Well ask her about that, and when her love of animals began. Oh, and we’ll talk about her husband too, author Williams Bruce Cameron, whose book, “A Dog’s Purpose,” spent 52-weeks on the New York Times bestseller list.

Michelle Danner, film director and founder, “The Creative Center for the Arts” & “The Los Angeles Acting Conservatory,” has had a remarkable career in multiple areas of the arts, and she joins us today to talk about longevity, how the business is changing, and how a good story always rules.

Michelle is behind some of the industry’s most notable films, from “The Italians,” “Miranda’s Victim,” and “The Runner.” She is also set to direct the outer-space, sci-fi action thriller, “Helios.” Michelle is also a gifted acting instructor, and says this may be one of the best times to get into the business and hone your craft. With film and various network and streaming opportunities for actors, she teaches actors how to be their best, and teaches various techniques from Adler to Strasberg, Meisner, and Hagen.

She’s also had an eclectic and interesting career starting at a young age, and she talks about that, in addition to being a women in a business that had been primarily male-centric when it came to making decisions, but that’s changed. A lot. Also, Michelle is Italian, and we ask her about growing up Italian and those influences on her as a young professional until now.

The show is a friendly look at retirement, baby-boom style, and talks about everything from back pain to sex. Fritz talks about his own life, from childhood to divorce and everything in between. It’s funny, clever, and it left me wanting more from Fritz, to learn about the man behind the happy weather talk. And there’s a lot.

He’s a student of comedy, and grew up watching and learning from the greats. And when his uncle took him to a George Carlin concert when he was a kid, Fritz met his first love - comedy.
