We are thrilled to have writer, producer, and filmmaker Chiara Tilesi join our show today, who is on a mission to change the way women are heard and portrayed in media, and as you'll see, she's succeeding. Chiara is behind the award-winning film, "Tell It Like a Woman" and documentary, "One Of Us." In addition, she founded, "We Do It Together," a nonprofit production company that produces content to empower the story of women around the world. It's working, having recently been asked to speak before the United Nations. "Tell It Like a Woman" highlights seven segments by female directors from around the world, with topics ranging from homelessness to mental health and addiction, starring some of today's most recognized actresses. Each story is about women and by women, but for everyone. "One Of Us" started as a documentary about four Italian women living and working in Los Angeles, and the concept has since grown and Chiara will be also talking about that. What makes a warrior?

Tune in to our show today to hear from my guest, Lisa Guerrero, chief investigative correspondent for Inside Edition, former sports reporter and anchor, actor, and now best-selling author, “Warrior, My Path to Being Brave.” And wow, has Lisa been brave, and a trailblazer, too.

We’ll talk about some of the abuses highlighted in her book from bosses to colleagues, some accusing her of using her cleavage to nail a job in sports reporting at a time when women were usually in the stands and not on the field. They were wrong. Lisa is smart, resourceful, willing to take chances, and bounces back. And that’s a true warrior. We’ll ask her about one of THE most difficult moments I’ve ever heard of while reporting LIVE on the field, suffering a miscarriage, and she kept working. And she’ll explain why, the answer framed in a common story we often hear about, abuse.

Lisa’s story is absolutely incredible, one I can relate throughout many moments in the book. She says she wrote this for all the future “Little Lisa’s” out there, so they can be brave. Bravo!

There’s a lot of buzz around film director K.T. Curran, whose latest film, Bridge To The
Other Side, is getting high critical praise from Hollywood to Sarasota, where K.T. lives,
which also happens to be my hometown. And today, we speak with K.T. on
#DeborahKobyltLIVE & #TheSarasotaPodcast about her film and life.
Bridge To The Other Side is an incredible journey into grief, drugs, mental health, and
relationships, filmed in Sarasota. In fact, you may recognize many street scenes and
local restaurants in #SRQ. The message is deep, and people are noticing.
We’ll be talking about the process of filming, in addition to K.T.’s prior work as an actor,
screenwriter, and founder of Wingspan Productions, a nonprofit that creates films to
inspire social change. And she’s done just that. Bridge To The Other Side will be
shown this month at The Sarasota Film Festival, which celebrates its 25th year!
