favorite meals and freeze the leftovers. In other words, make enough for two meals instead of one. Then, when things get rushed right before Christmas - and you know they will - you won’t fret about making dinner or spending money on take-out. Remember a few days ago we mad a decision to not eat out until after Christmas? This is a good way to do it.

and sales too.

recipient (or the birds on the other end) a nice little snack. There are tons of other ideas on Pinterest for how to use what
you have to keep everything snug and safe. Find all the tips you can and start getting ready for mailing your packages.

0:03 Wow, it's day twenty!  Oh, we are really getting into the holiday spirit and today we want to talk about simplifying your decorating.

0:11 It's time to pull out all your holiday decorations. This year let's try to use only what we have already. It's so easy to go out and start buying. Invariably, do you know what happens to me?  I realize I already had it. I overbuy, because I forgot all the wrapping paper that I had. I buy more garland. I buy more this that and the other thing. So pull out what you have today and see what you have. You're going to be surprised.

0:37 Now, here's a little tip. Instead of trying to decorate the entire house which takes a lot of time and money, focus on just three things. You ready?

• A tree.
• The mantelpiece or if you don't have a fireplace, the stairway, the rail.
• And a wreath. 

0:56 Those three things. You got it? I'll say it again. Three things: the tree, the mantlepiece, and a wreath. Decorate them similarly. Make them match. Put them up and you can't believe the magic that will happen. You won't have to decorate the bathroom. You won't have to make every shelf in the kitchen some kind of a beautiful, little Christmas vignette. Just the three things: the tree, the mantlepiece, the front door with a wreath.

0:03 Hi everyone! Today it's cards and letters. I love to get Christmas cards. I really love to get family newsletters too. But guess what? I need do them for my family! Seems like I spend my whole year writing so that's the last thing I want to do come Christmas. But, oh please, don't stop sending your cards and letters because I love them so much. 

0:27 So today, I want to encourage you, selfishly of course,  compile your Christmas cards list and divide it into manageable groups. That's a big key, because some of you have pretty long lists. Today would be the time too to start writing that Christmas card letter.  Remember I want to know everything. All the things the kids are doing. Put some pictures in too.

0:50 Then address envelopes and sign cards. You can do that now, one group at a time. That makes the job seem not so overwhelming. If sending a Christmas letter, draft it, finalize it and print it. If you're having photo cards made, get that picture taken soon.

If turkey is on sale, and I promise you it is, it's not necessary for you to go the prime rib route. Find ways you can use turkey- on Christmas Day, on Christmas Eve. Your family will be fine because you are such a fantastic cook! And you have such great ideas for menus.

0:35 Inventory your pantry, your refrigerator and your freezer. You certainly don't want to re-buy things you already have. Then, collect coupons for the ingredients on your list and begin
stockpiling items you’ll need that are on sale.

0:05 Hi everyone! I'm Mary and today I'd like to talk about my Christmas countdown. This is for kids and grandchildren and kids of all ages. Here's what we're going to do. I want you to get children's books on a Christmas theme. They can be winter theme, holiday theme. You can have some for the Christ child. You can have some for Hanukkah. Things that relate to this time of year that match your family's values. Very important. 

0:37 Now, I suppose you could run to a retail bookstore and find children's books, but don't do that. I'm telling you ahead of time before everyone thinks of this. Get thee to the library! You can borrow children's books now and not have them due back before Christmas. I think there is still time and you can also renew them. Possibly you could go online and do an interlibrary loan.

1:04 Here's what you do. Get the books. Get some wrapping paper. Wrap them up. Yes, like a present. Get a big basket, a box, something. Number them.

1:13 Now, here's the deal. Each night read that day's story with your kids. It's such a fun experience. They get to open a gift.
It's an inexpensive way for the family to count down to
Christmas.
