Or is it erasing/rebooting/redefining reality? When we no longer can tell what is from the mind of a  human and what is alarmingly fake, we are entering a new phase of existence. AI is replicating itself exponentially mostly thanks to the ground breaking actions of social media, which was just the beginning. And those who are responsible for it’s growth don’t seem to be asking any ethical/moral/philosophical questions about where it’s going. Now that we are addicted to technology, the web has been fully spun.

Patrick has been ahead of the tech curve for many years. As an author, speaker, and economist, he continues to challenge us to think soberly and purposefully about just what it means to live in these times unlike any other in history, largely due to the infrastructure of technology that has been building for many decades.

[Original airdate: 11/22/22] TODAY’S GUESTS: Authors, Holly Pivec and Douglas Geivett just released a new book, Counterfeit Kingdom: The Dangers of New Revelation, New Prophets, and New Age Practices on the Church. What used to be on the fringes of the church is now mainstream, and many are being influenced by it unaware. This book is a wake-up call.

Holly Pivec is an evangelical researcher of cults, sects, and new religious groups, such as the “New Apostolic Reformation” (NAR) movement. She has a master’s degree in Christian apologetics from Biola University in Southern California, where she attended and also worked. Holly and her family live in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Doug Geivett is a husband, father to two grown children, professor, author, and speaker. He has a Ph.D. in philosophy from USC and teaches at Biola University and Talbot School of Theology. Doug has written or edited several books and spoken on issues related to the New Apostolic Reformation, Christian apologetics, and the Christian life to audiences all over the world.

Is there a new reformation happening in the church? It depends on who you ask. The New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) is a popular and fast-growing new movement of Christians who emphasize signs and wonders, and teach that God is giving new revelation through new apostles and prophets. But is this biblical Christianity?

In Counterfeit Kingdom, apologists and NAR experts Holly Pivec and Douglas Geivett show how the NAR’s key tenets distort the gospel, twist the Scriptures, are influenced by New Age practices, and lead faithful Christians to shipwreck their faith. It might be difficult to comprehend how those who are supposed to have the Holy Spirit Who guides us into all truth could ever assent to false teaching. Peter warns us in his 2nd epistle that “many will follow their destructive ways” and so that is a reality that must be accepted and learned from. Destructive doctrines by depraved teachers will have eternal consequences. Mankind is prone to being deceived ever since the fall, but how can the average believer guard their hearts with all diligence when there are so many doctrines – some demonic – vying for our attention? Are some just ignoring that still, small voice? Are believers too trusting of anyone who calls themselves a pastor? All this and more with JB to continue to equip the church for dark days. In today’s installment of breaking news, Mary looks at the increasing chaos of the current world order, as we go from the kingdom of man to the Kingdom of Jesus, in which righteousness will dwell. We should expect turbulence. But how much? When an airplane full of people experiences unusually strong turbulence, the panic, screaming and terror is heartbreaking because they do not know what is going to happen next. In the same way, no one knows what will happen next in the world, but Jesus, the I AM, tells his disciples in Matthew 14 to “fear not”. AND “be of good cheer”. So here we are church, armed with hope and brimming with good cheer, right? Yes, watching the epic fail of the West is very difficult, but the nations raging and the sea tossing is something we should expect. We will look at the Middle East as it reaches a point of no return; the looming dockworkers strike next week, and find out from Scripture what this distress and perplexity really means. An hour of hope. And good cheer. Maranatha.

JB Hixson is back with us to talk about “gaslighting”, a term that was not in the American vernacular until a 1944 classic film noir of the same name, in which a young woman is so thoroughly emotionally manipulated by her husband that she eventually questions her own sanity. Today, the word is often used in reference to political campaign tactics, where it certainly applies – but there is so much more to it now because of social media. Add to that a mainstream media that is carrying water for one particular political party for their own ends, and what do you have? Gaslighting on a national – and really on a global – level. The depths of delusion and smoke and mirrors in this world is on a genius level – as only the god of this world could accomplish as we draw closer to the end of the age. Video posted on Rumble.
