The origins of the United States of America are immigrants. You will hear from students who have traveled to the States to pursue an education as well as American students traveling to different parts of the world to explore life outside of the US.
Over 45 students submitted their stories, 5 students are featured in this episode:
Fatoumata Camara - an international student from Guinea, currently attending Pace University to obtain her Master's
Vickie Chong - Originally from Malaysia and will be attending UC Berkeley
Khanh Dinh - A Vietnamese student studying at the University of Washington
Timo Ahmed - A USC student from Egypt
Nidhi Ghorpade - A student from India who is studying at Baine State
Unfortunately, the overwhelming majority of students who submitted their experiences had encountered racism in their journeys.
We must do better.

Trying to make a living writing used to be a dream that many people thought was impossible, but because of the internet, it is becoming a reality for so many!

Flo has quit her HR job to pursue writing her blog "The Way Factory"
Charly has been in almost every writing career possible from writing for publications, start ups, movie scripts and is now even helping students get into graduate school!
"Tell me about yourself" - if you don't know your story, chances are you'll probably bomb this question. We go over how you can leverage your story to do more than just regurgitate your resume to the recruiter when you answer this question.

In my experience, many people forget that the main portion of an interview... is you! It's not about the research on the company, it's more about can you do the research and can I see myself working with you for 40-60 hours a week.
Thats where your story comes into play for interviews. Mastering your story allows you to mold your answers to different scenarios and blow the interviewer away!
Stan Miller is the Chief Sales Officer at Viewpost and the Founder of Storicate, a company whose mission is to help individuals master their story to accelerate their careers. He's interviewed thousands and hired hundreds of people so he definitely knows what to do in an interview situation!

Interviews are tough, but if you want to find a job, you'll need to master the art of the interview to get the offer.
You will hear from Daniel Botero who has helped students land jobs and internships at Goldman Sachs, Disney, Microsoft, etc.
And Basant Shenouda, who is a content creator on LinkedIn and recently landed a role at LinkedIn before she graduated!
When it comes to resumes, there is a lot of information out there. A lot of bad information too. I wanted to get the professional perspective on how to craft a great resume from people who have helped hundreds if not thousands of students.

Reading isn't something that we are brought up to love. In high school we're forced to read books that we hate and it sort of ruins reading I think. But when you actually find a book that you like, it can be tough to put down, or in my case stop listening to as I listen to audiobooks.
These 3 books will help you build a solid foundation for a lot of skills that you will need to know and understand in the future:
The Third Door by Alex Banayan - This will help you with networking and really change your mindset around "I'm just a student, who would want to meet with me".
The $100 Startup by Chris Guillebeau - For anyone googling "How To Make Money In College" or "I'm broke How Do I Make Money" this is a perfect book for you
Money Master The Game by Tony Robbins - Learn about personal finance from Financial Titans, but in a way that the "average" person can understand. There is less financial jargon in this book and it can definitely help you in the long run.
Bonus*
The 4-Hour Workweek by Tim Ferris - With everything moving remote, you can use Tim's tips to begin to shape the life of your dreams.
