Disappointments can lead to deconstructing belief in God. And deconstruction can be healthy — taking apart our practices and beliefs to determine their truthfulness, usefulness, and impact. But where do we bring our doubts, and then what happens next? In Matthew 11, we find John the Baptist wrestling with his own disappointments and doubt, and he brought them straight to the source.
