Belief + Confession = Salvation

In Luke 15, Jesus tells three stories to illustrate God’s heart to seek and to save the lost. In the parable of the lost coin, the woman represents the bride of Christ. To find the lost coin, the woman lights an oil lamp to light up the darkness. Oil is a picture of God’s Spirit, and the lamp is a picture of God’s Son!

What is Jesus looking for when He examines your life? God promises to renew, reenergize, and revive His people when they have grown weary. Isaiah 40:28-31 uses a similitude to describe the people of God. He says that they shall mount up with “wings like eagles.”
