When you're fighting on social media, you are contending with the pain of strangers.

Many have ventured into New World, but it seems few have found the salvation they seek. Weak quests they say! Lack of narrative moments they say! New World is built on a foundation of lies, and there is nothing of note to be found there they say!

I say they are wrong.

New World has been released, and has already overtaken Cyberpunk 2077 with the fourth highest player peak ever on Steam, now trailing only DOTA 2, CSGO, and PUBG.

And I'm one of those players.

Today I'm taking a moment to reflect not on New World itself, but on the effect it has had on me and my ADHD. I've learned a lot about the disorder since my diagnosis in early 2020. Roughly 5% of children and adults suffer from it. I'd bet that, among my fellow adventurers, the percentage is quite a bit higher.
