In this episode, Jeff sits down to visit with jazz vibraphonist Sasha Berliner as she shares deeply about what her music and jazz music in general mean to her at a deeper level.
She speaks candidly about why jazz is still very relevant today and about the importance of "cross pollination" with other musical genres and styles.
The conversation concludes as she talks about how she discovered jazz, about some formative lessons learned, and about her own artistic journey thus far.
Sasha Berliner’s music work remains primarily based in New York City. In addition to performing internationally with her own project, Sasha Berliner Azalea, her recent notable performances have been with musicians such as drummer-composer Tyshawn Sorey, trumpet player Nicholas Payton, and jazz vibraphonist Warren Wolf, and drummer Quincy Davis.
